Jeremy has always been a good kid, though he didn't have any friends he still managed to be kind to others. Jeremy had a mother her name was Abigail Reeves, and a father James Reeves,he could have a a brother (Jeffery Reeves) but sadly that never happened. The thing about Jeremy that made him unique was that he loved to see people smile. He would go to great lengths to see someone he cared about (or even hardly knew at all) smile. Jeremy was twelve years old and didn't have a great understanding of the world around him. All he seemed to know was how to make people happy.
It was on the night of his twelfth birthday when it happened. He woke up at three in the morning to the sound of his parents fighting, which was strange, his parents never fought. He crept down the stairs and into the living room , he moved the balloons that where blocking the door to the side(he had just had some guests come over that evening for some cake). "M-mom? Dad?" The boy stuttered and walked into the room fully. "Are you okay?" The two adults looked at him, surprised he had heard the two. His mother smiled and simply said "it's nothing sweet heart, you go back up to bed now." Just as Jeremy turned around his fathers voice called for him to come back, Jeremy obeyed. The mother looked at him surprised and worried, the father smiled at the boy "Jeremy, you like to make people smile don't you?" The boy nodded, "yea! Of course I do daddy." He gave a slight giggle to the silly question in which the answer was obvious. The father smiled "well then," he picked up the knife that was used for cutting the cake. His mother took a step forward "don't you dare hurt my son James!" He said trying to pull the knife away. The father let out a laugh "Suddenly he's yours?! Suddenly you want this-this disappointment?!" Jeremy looked at his father too surprised to even look away. The mother was pushed away from the husband and he turned back to the boy, chuckling at his surprised expression. "Jeremy, you know what'll make me really happy?" He asked twirling the knife in his hand. Jeremy shifted, nervous "no, what is it? I-I'll do anything to make you happy!" Jeremy smiled. With a small laugh he nodded "Very well," the father smiled wildly and in one swift move he stabbed the child in his right eye. Pushing the blade further, and further, and further slowly deeper into the boy's skull. The child shrieked in pain, the mother screamed in horror, as the father laughed in joy. Leaving the knife in his own child's skull, he smiled once more. "Thank you," he said simply "I'm happy now." He walked over to the door, just before he could exit he turned to Jeremy "your a very good boy." Just like that the door slammed shut and the father had left, Jeremy was left bleeding until his mother hurriedly took him to the nearest hospital.
It's been six years since that night, Jeremy hasn't changed. He still tried to make people smile, tell his mother jokes and such. One thing that did change however, was his effort to make friends, he seemed to push anyone who tried being nice to him away. His mother didn't really see any threat in this other then the fact that he never went on dates, which would honestly worry any mother with a son his age. That's beside the point however the thing the really worried her, was how much time he spent fishing. Yes, this does sound like an odd thing to worry about, but she had her reasons. Jeremy would often stare at the fishhooks...mumbling. This always sent a chill down her spine. He constantly mumbled "I'm a good boy, I want to make them all smile. I'm a good boy, I want to make them all smile." His mother decided to put all her worries to the side, thinking she had nothing to worry about...that was...Until that night...
