Jason's POV
Jason had considered telling Kilo all night but he decided against it. Athena had said when he was ready he should tell her but he wasn't ready yet. They were leaving first thing after breakfast so Jason had packed only a few essentials. He trudged to the dinning pavilion and sat at his table. "I miss home." he muttered. Once he was finished he sneaked off to his cabin. In the corner was a sea foutain that made a little raindown when he opened the blinds. Jason pulled out his gold drachmas that his mother had given him. "Oh Iris, goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering." He chanted and tossed the coin into the mist and it disappeared. "Show me Annabeth Chase, Camp Jupiter." Sitting on their home couch lost in a book was his mother. His father had his arms wrapped around her in a reassuring way. "I miss him Perce."
"I know Annabeth but he needs this."
"Mom!" Jason shouted interrupting them.
"Oh my Gods Jason!"
"I miss you too." Jason told her.
"What's going on?" His dad asked.
"Well Nico came by he brought news about the quest and ummm... Grandmother may have stopped by also." Jason told them though he was hesitant because he knew Annabeth and her relationship with her mother was strained. His mothers eyes widened.
"What did she want?" His dad asked edging slightly closer.
"She told me that I have great power with water and my wisdom and that I just need to figure them out. She also mentioned something about how proud she was of mom and that she even completed... The Mark." His mom seemed to shiver at the mention of the name and she muttered something in ancient Greek. "Mom what's The Mark?" She shook her head.
"Nothing Jay be careful and contact us again okay? I love you."
"I love you guys too." His dad waved his hand and the mist disappeared.
"Jason!" called Kilo somewhere outside but Jason had no energy after seeing his parents for the first time for ages, it had drained him physically and mentally.
Eventually Kilo found him in his cabin she entered slowly and frowned when she saw him crouched in the corner with one set of blinds open. "Geez talk about depressing." She muttered. Jason found it lucky he was in the sun of the window so it didn't show his grey eyes.
"I'm just errr worried about the quest." Jason lied and Kilo didn't look convinced but she didn't press him which made him feel even more guilty. "You ready to go, Nico is waiting?"
"Yeah I'm all set." He watched as Kilo left and he smiled to himself. Okay Jason you've got this, he reassured himself and then he exited. Waiting outside stood Nico he was much taller than Kilo and his stygian iron blade hung from his waist. Kilo had her typical celestial bronze dagger tucked in her belt. She stood with her arms crossed as if she was unimpressed and Jason smiled at that. He thought she looked extremly beautiful but he'd never tell her that. "Nico where exactly do we get into the underworld?"
"I could shadow travel down there but it'd take a lot of energy and I'm not sure it's safe to do that with.." he galnced at Jason. "your blood." he finished.
"But you're a demigod?" Kilo questioned.
"Of Hades and he's not fond of Poseidon children."
"Great so we're going into his domain so he can basically kill us."
"You're scent will not be as strong."
"What do you mean? He's a child of one of the big three we'll be walking piñatas." Kilo argued.
"I'm sure Nico knows Kilo besides I have to do this." Jason interupted. "So where is the entrence to the Underworld?"
"LA."
"Naturally." Jason said sarcastically.
As Jason walked past the pegasi stables he heard someone in his head ask, boss? He ignored it at first but then a black pegasuss emerged from the stables.
You're not boss but you look like him.
"Ummm who's boss?" Jason asked looking at the horse for some reason he didn't question why a horse was talkig to him.
Percy Jackson.
"Oh he's my dad."
Really wow! Hey do you have sugar cubes?
"No..."
"Who are you talking to Chase?" Kilo asked. Jason made a hand gesture to the pegasuss and Kilo smirked.
"See I told you that you were the Horse King didn't I? Anyway he only lets the hero Percy Jackson ride him."
Pfffft what does she know?
"Child of Athena." Jason said smirking.
I'll let you ride me lil' boss and I'll even call my friends to help out.
"That'd be awesome but don't call me lil' boss."
No can do lil' boss.
Jason climbed on the back of the pegasuss and he called his friends for Nico and Kilo. "What's your name?"
My name dear sir is Blackjack and welcome aboard the Pegasuz express.
"You mean Pegasi express?"
Like I told your father nope the 'z' makes it cooler.
