Sakura sat there and wondered. What's a partner? A mate? It confused him, but it also made him chuckle.
The lion shifter must have been new as well, or just not used to human terms. Of course he wouldn't find a partner. A was out of his league and to be honest, the trashcan in the corner of the classroom was an easier pick-up date. Literally.
Sakuro sat down by the trees in front of the school after his last period. He watched the Sakura blossoms fall around him, and focused on their beauty, and their elegance.
Their dance seemed uncoordinated, but still graceful. He caught one in his hand, and smiled, as he reminded himself that he was named after such a stunning plant.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted A. To Sakuro, he was sure that that wasn't his name in he slightest. Most probably a fake, because after all, who names their child after a single letter?
He got up and trekked over to A.
"A isn't your real name, r-right?" Sakuro accidentally stuttered out.
A looked at him in shock at first, but his expression melted into a smirk.
"Curious, aren't you, Pinky?" A purred, figuratively and literally.
Sakuro looked up at him, and nodded.
A sighed, and ruffled Sakuro's hair.
"It's everyone's first day. Save the curiosity for when you really need it," A muttered to Sakuro, "and don't hang out with Matthew. Everyone's already fond of using him as a base for their weird rumors. You already kind-of smell like him, for Pete's sake."
A waved and walked off to a group of other high schoolers that he quickly recognized as the school's free running club.
How many clubs are even at this school?!
