One of the creatures then spoke up. She had Brown hair that looked frosted, like frost on a tree branch. Her skin looked as if she spent her time relaxing in the sun, but, she was oddly pale. As if her skin too was covered in frost. She was tall and slim, yet, she looked like she could take on anyone with just her icy stare. Frost. It seemed as good a name as any other.
" What did you just say?", she- Frost asked.
" Orlaith, Orlaith, Orlaith! ", the small creature exclaimed. He hobbled into my lap, curled into a small ball and began purring. I could feel his body vibrating in my chest. I felt my hand lifting up to stroke the small snowflakes from his hair.
"That's impossible. The princess was murdered after the humans attacked Zuleika." It was frost speaking now.
" Actually, the princess was never declared dead. Her heart stone still beats." It was Autumn. His tall figure rising above the rest of them.
"Scarcely." The remark came from another amongst their group. I couldn't find where the voice was coming from.
" The princesses' Heart stone beats scarcely", he concluded. They all went silent. Until frost spoke up.
" If she's the princess then she shouldn't get hurt, right?", she said. Her hair began to glow I stood quickly. What is she going to do to me.. Her eyes began to glow also. A swirl of white light began to blaze in the palm of her hand. Her focused glare peered into my soul. And she Dropped the sphere of light to the floor.
Nothing happened at first. Then the temperature dropped twenty degrees. Frost began covering the floor of the bus spiking out dangerously into different areas. It Was coming dangerously at me. I didn't panic. In fact I was completely calm in my next actions. I drew down to one knee and set my hand flat on the rough surface of the bus floor. The iced frost was still continuing it's fast path to me. I closed my eyes and thought of the snow. An instant chill surrounded my body as I imagined my breathe coming out in a thick fog. I felt the soft prickles in the pads of my hands. It seemed as if the world had paused briefly for me. The sound of gasps coming from everyone around me was muffled. I opened my eyes to see that a makeshift force field had surrounded me. And it was covered in frost. I slipped and fell back against the otherside of the snowy orb. What the hell just happened. I looked down at my hands, a soft and pale glow coming from the tips and pads of my hand. What the hell is going on with me?!
I didn't know how to make it go away. If I could think about the cold to make stuff happen, could it work the other way around? I put my hand in front of me and closed my eyes. I began to notion my thoughts to summer. The way the warm breeze felt against my skin. The flowers that would sprout up from the ground and how everything turned green. When I opened my eyes the frost covered ball was half melted away.
I stood up in my now half melted sphere to face the strange creatures on the other end of the bus.
"That's impossible...", Frost said. She stares at me with widened eyes. " When will Achisar be here?" she asked the smallest of the group, not taking her eyes off of me. As if on cue a loud thump was heard on the roof of the bus. "He's here", he responded. Footsteps were heard from the middle of the bus to the front where they stopped. I held my breath scared of what was coming. More monsters? Help... hopefully? In one vacant sweep of white came a stranger, much taller than the rest. He had short, white blonde hair that was styled like a crew cut, but, a lot simpler than the jocks and rich people. It was subtle and soft, like everything else about him. He was fair and clear skinned with a permanent rosy blush on his cheeks that made him look young, matched with soft and dark brown eyes that contrasted to everything else about him. He was slender with a smaller frame than the rest of the armored group, he was slender from his shoulders to his large, thin hands. His face was slender with a pointed nose and high cheekbones that were hard to see if you didn't pay close enough attention and it all sloped to a fish at his chin.
He was beautiful. Not hot or sexy, beautiful. He was so angelic, I froze. I've never seen anything so...perfect. He turned his head slightly away from the group, that had started a conversation I didn't even notice, and caught my eye, for just a moment the world stopped spinning on its axis, time had frozen to a complete stop. That's when I felt it, an emptiness right where my heart should be. I felt hollow and I couldn't take in any air, I was instantly drawn to him by something so powerful I couldn't help but allow it to lead me.
I stepped out of my nearly melted sphere and slowly made my way towards the tall, male creature. An unknown force pulling my closer and closer to this angle of a being. He noticed and turned towards me fully, cocking his head slightly to the side, curious of what I was planning on doing. I slowly trekked through the aisles, my silver eyes never leaving his. I was only about three feet away when his chest was bumped back by an unknown force. He reached into his crisp white trench coat and pulled out a small black stone with red glowing from the inside. It seemed to pulse in time with my heart beat. The small stone hung from a white, vine like string, it was so elegant.
I reached out one of my frail fingers to touch it, I hesitated for just a second. I was so drawn to something I'd never seen before.
"The princess's heart stone..."
