No Matter What

Chapter 1

Marinette's POV

"Marinette! Wake up, you're going to be late again!" Tikki yells in my face.

"Aaah!!! Tikki! Why didn't you wake me up sooner!?" I groan.

"I tried but you kept ignoring me," Tikki pouts.

"It's ok. It's not the first time, nor will it be the last time," I laugh.

Adrien's POV

"Adrien? Your father would like to see you in his office," Nathalie says in the doorway of the dinning room.

"Will do. I'll be there in a second. Just let me clean this up," I was in the middle of eating breakfast. I finish putting things away and walk into my father's office to see Chloé standing next to her father.

"Adrien, I'm sure you know Miss Bourgeois," my father motions toward Chloé.

"Uh, yeah. What's this about?" I ask.

"We are going to date!" Chloé says cheerfully. She walks over to me, hangs on my right shoulder and kisses me on the cheek.

"Unless you have a good reason as to why this should not happen I'm afraid you have no choice,"

"I DO," I say a little too loud.

"Then speak it," my father says coldly.

"I-uh, I'm in love with someone else!" I exclaim.

"Really? And who would this be?" Chloé questions.

"Uh-um- I don't want to say," I answer.

"I'll make you a deal," my father says. "If you can prove that this girl also loves you in a months time, I will drop this while ordeal. Deal?"

I could see the look in my father's eyes. He knew I didn't want to date Chloé, he knew that I wanted out of this. He knew that I really did love someone else.

"Deal," I say confidently.

"NO! NOT DEAL!" Chloé screams and stamps her foot.

"Now, now dear. Relax we'll talk about this at home," Mr. Bourgeois says with a shaky voice.

"Fine, but only because I can't be late for school," Chloé says. She walks out of the office, but before stepping the final step over the threshold, she stops, turns around and looks right at me. "See you at school Adri-kins," she winks after finishing and step out.

"I'm terribly sorry for disturbing your moring Mr. Agreste," Mr. Bourgeois says. He turns around and walks out of the office.

"I want you to try as hard as you can to prove the other girl really does love you. That Chloé gets on my nerves and I don't think I could stand you two together," My father says as he works on his computer.

"I never thought I would hear you say something like that," I say.

"I'm sorry for that. Just, do your best and make me proud," he says without looking up.

A smile creeps on my face. He's never told me to make him proud before. Maybe he's feeling better about mom. I wish he and I could be closer. We are all each other have after all.

My bodyguard opens the car door for me and I climb inside. He then shuts the door.

"How am I supposed to get Ladybug to fall in love with me in a month?" I think to myself. "I'll just try harder to wow her. I know what I need to do."

We pull up on the school and I climb out. The car drives away and my best friend Nino walks up to me like he does everyday. That's when I saw her tumbing toward me with no signs of stopping.

Marinette's POV

"Alya I can't do it!" I say loud enough for the dramatic effect but quite enough so that only she and I heard.

"Yes you can girl, and you will. Now GO!" she gives me a little push and I start tripping down the steps. My momentum keeps me from being able to stop and I fall right into Adrien.

"Great, first I’m almost late then I crush my crush. Just end me," I think.

"Woah Marinette, are you ok?" Adrien asks me sounding very concerned.

"Uh y-yes you are! I mean, Yes we am, uh I mean yes I am!" I stutter.

Gabriel's POV

"Is the camera ready?" I ask my assistant.

"Yes sir, ready to stream," she answers.

"Turn it on," I say.

The screen on my desktop lights up with the image of my son's school. I will see if this girl really does love him and isn't just lying. In the screen I see my son getting balled over by a clumsy girl who trampled down the steps.

"You don't think it's her do you?" Nathalie asks.

"Woah Marinette, are you ok?" I hear my son ask this girl over the speakers.

"Uh y-yes you are! I mean, Yes we am, uh I mean yes I am!" I hear her stutter.

I squint. "Why does that seem so familiar?" I think to myself.

-------------------Flashback------------------

I get out of the car and wave goodbye to my mother as she drives away.

"Gaberi-kins!" I hear someone yell. I turn around to see Laura running towards me. She jumps on me and squeezes me tight. "I'm so glad you're back from your trip!" She yells.

I see a small blue figure standing timidly behind Laura. I pull Layra off me and walk towards this figure. It was Emilie.

"Are you feeling ok?" I ask her.

"Uh y-yes you are! I mean, Yes we am, uh I mean yes I am!" She stutters as her face turns a beat red and she looks away.

"Well good. I'm glad," I smile at her. She smiles back and I walk into the school right behind her.

----------------End Flashback--------------

"Sir?" I hear Nathalie say from behind me.

"Yes. That's the girl. I know it," I say as I walk away from the screen and out of the room.

"My son and I are much alike," I think to myself.

I walk into my room and sit on my bed, looking at the framed photo of my wife.

"Oh Emilie. You would be so proud of our son. If only you were here,"
