     mornings.

jeongguk dreads seeing the sun rise in it's brilliant amber glory every sunday because it meant monday was just around the corner, ready to greet him with school. but it wasn't just that, it was also because he had tutoring today.

now, don't get him wrong, he has nothing against yoongi, it's just that most of the day was spent on completing assignments and mini lectures. for once, jeongguk wants one free sunday. his day was basically wake up / get ready, eat breakfast, complete first session from nine to one, break / lunch, complete second session from three to eight, dinner, free time, wash up / bedtime. it was a strict routine, but one that helped him tremendously for years now.

the boy was in the process taking his medications and vitamins when he heard the front door slam shut. he quickly washed his face and brushed his teeth before briskly changing into a simple white tee and black basketball shorts, walking barefoot into the dining room.

"morning kid," yoongi greeted, a mug of slightly bitter black coffee in his hands. jeongguk nods in response as he began to brew water for a mint tea. as the water slowly simmered, he opens the cupboard to take out a few granola bars and starts to rip one open. yoongi frowns.

"you should eat more in the mornings, gguk."

"it's only on sundays i eat this little, hyung," the younger mumbled through a mouthful. yoongi sighs in disappointment but did not continue to talk about the matter. instead, he reaches into his backpack and pulls out a binder filled with assignments ready for jeongguk to work on. an evil smirk adorns the older's face, as he flipped to the familiar blue tab.

"let's start with math, shall we?"

     jeongguk really hates sundays.

yoongi pinches the bridge of his nose when he sees the bullshit answers jeongguk jotted down on the practice sheet yoongi carefully arranged for him.

"kid, how do you expect to pass your first honors math class if you don't even try to put in effort?"

"how do you expect me to actually work on these? mom forced me to take it once she spotted the recommendation!" jeongguk whined, taking back his paper and erasing whatever trash he mindlessly wrote.

it was only eleven, therefore only two hours have passed and jeongguk was ready to yeet himself out of the window beside him and his hyung. despite the strong urge to end his misery, he swallows it like the tough cookie he is and runs through his memory for simple trigonometry.

fourteen minutes later, he finally completes the twenty problems he was assigned. yoongi casually slips the paper from under jeongguk's as the older looks through his camera's gallery.

yoongi was in his final year of university, meaning he was beginning the process of his senior project. the only reason why yoongi was starting so early in the school year was because he was double majoring in photography and music production. soon, he would have to take a break from tutoring jeongguk since he wanted to put graduation as his main focus, but for now, his dongsaeng was his top priority.

he glances over the paper, checking the answer in his head as he had already memorized them, since jeongguk used to sneak the answer sheets from yoongi, and only marks one of the answers as partially correct.

"good job, gguk. you should still continue to practice a few more of these problems for next week. do you want me to give you a head start into the next lesson or do you want to-"

"let's move on! i cannot continue this mental torture, hyung."

yoongi rolled his eyes, closing the younger's math folder and opening the english folder, knowing full well the younger was going to choke him.

"then we'll move on to engl-"

he was tackled before he could finish that sentence.

it was finally eight o'clock and jeongguk was ready to pass out. yoongi left a little earlier tonight because he had to attend a dinner with one of his boyfriends' family. the younger then groans in realization that he still has a history project due next month and he has yet to mention it to his hyung at all. the teen facepalms and lets out a frustrated sigh.

whatever, he can tell yoongi about it over the phone or even next week.

a tap on the door disrupts his train of thoughts as he remembered he still had to fulfill dinner time and his nightly hygienics before he could crash. he carefully opens his bathroom door and quickly stepped inside. he locks it and leaned his back against it with an exhale leaving his body. he didn't want to eat, despite his stomach protesting, and if his mother enters his bedroom with the spare key, at least he was safe in the bathroom.

the open blinds of the window gave him a clear view of the navy blue and black outside, void of any glittering stars.

he had hoped to see the fiery balls of gas present a show tonight. but without the distraction, jeongguk was left with a grumbling stomach. so instead, he fell asleep to the sound of gurgling hunger pains and the warnings of his displeased mother.

"jeongguk, you need to eat before you go to bed!"

|bro didn't even brush his teeth 😔

oof, fun fact, i already had the first chapter written and even half of the second, but i was unsatisfied and it didn't seem to blend well with the plot i was going for (whatever i have planned, anyway). this is much better :D

i hope it kind of interests y'all? it's going to be a slightly slow progression until we really get into the story and officially meet namjoon.|
