The elevator came to a sudden halt, and the doors opened quickly, Riley practically falling out from anticipation. Silver walked out ahead of her and looked around, slouching slightly.
"Yeah, knowing Roy, this is definitely where he ended up."
"I'm glad you seem confident, Silver." Riley sighed at Silver's incompetence to even try to remember Ray's name. She looked around frantically, hoping to see his stupid face somewhere. There was hardly anyone else in the casino, but she wasn't surprised in the slightest. It was too early for anyone to be gambling right now, except for Remy, apparently.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw Hoshi start to pull out his phone to start recording, but she gave him a half glare that clearly said don't-you-even-think-about-it-right-now-goddamnit. He pushed his mask up so she could see his eyes, and he gave her a look in return: this-is-what-I-do-for-a-living-Riles-and-this-place-is-really-cool-woah. She stared at him for a long moment before nodding her head in half approval. He whipped his phone out and started recording, walking around avidly, talking all about what was happening to himself and his damned phone.
Riley looked up at Silver. "You've been here before, right? You know where he might've wound up?"
He shrugged, shaking his head slightly. "I've only been here when I was completely wasted, so the chances I'll know where he is are close to none. Best case scenario, he's somewhere where we can get him easily, so we can get the fuck out of here as fast as possible." She could tell he was uneasy.
"Let's just...start looking around here first, then," she looked back to see Hoshi, but he was gone. "...since one of us is already gone, why don't we split up?" she asked, catching Silver fidgeting with his hands nervously. She'd never seen him do that before. When he noticed she was looking at him, his cheeks turned slightly pink.
"Shit- uh, yeah. Okay. I'll yell if I find something in this fucked up place." He turned away quickly and sped off, leaving Riley bewildered. She brushed off what had just happened, however, and started her own search.
She passed by slot machines, poker tables and roulette wheels. She called Remy's name a few times, but it was no use. She was starting to panic. What if something horrible happened to him? She clutched her arms, quickening her pace. She felt some of the people that were in the casino give her looks she couldn't describe, but she ignored them the best she could. She wished they'd stop looking at her, though.
"...and here's a slot machine that looks new. I'm gonna write my name on it." She heard Hoshi say from her left. When she spotted him, she walked over quickly, and watched as he wrote his name on the side of the machine with a Sharpie she noticed was tucked in his pocket before they left. He looked up at her and gave her a warm smile.
"Oh, here's Riley. Say hi!"
"No- have you found anything yet?" She adjusted her patch. He thought for a short while.
"I can tell you what I know for fifty dol-"
"Hoshiko, we don't have time for this!!" She groaned and rocked on her feet impatiently. "Did you see him or not??"
Hoshi bit the inside of his cheek and shook his head. "I wasn't paying attention."
Riley was about ready to rip his head off before they both heard incoherent yelling they immediately recognized to be Silver. Riley and Hoshi looked at each other quickly before running off to find him.
They ended up finding him in the far corner of the casino. There were hardly any machines back here, but a lot of trash. Riley walked over to see what Silver was looking at.
