Today was me and my twin sister kates 17th birthday. Honestly to me it felt like a normal day, or at least it was the exact same routine. We went to school then got picked up.
Both me and my sister can drive but our family only has two cars. My dad has one car that he takes to work and my mom insists she keeps the other car home in case she needs it.
As we pulled into the driveway my mom had a smirk on her face and both me and my sister knew something was up.
"Girls can you please go open the garage?" My mom said in a weirdly happy way.
My mom was always terrible with surprises.
Me and kate walked to the garage. Kate stood there anxiously while i typed in the garage code. The garage slowly opened and i could see a brand new red convertible before my eyes.
I sort-of felt like i was in a movie.
Kate quickly got in the car before i could even look at it. She has always been like that. She always had to be better than me. Its almost like everything is a competition and i hate it. Overall she is better than me. She is basically the head of our school. She is gorgeous. All of the boys at Marcus High, our high school, love her. I mean u would think im supposed to look like her right? But i really dont. On top of that we have a totally different fashion sense.
I have never been in the popular group and i would like to keep it that way. But it is hard to live up to her.
