I screamed at the top of my lungs as someone grabbed me roughly around the waist. I struggled violently as I continued to deafen my attacker. He swung me around and around in a circle...
"Hey lovely. Thanks for the welcoming greeting"
"Zack! You douche bag! You nearly gave me a freaking heart attack!" I screamed at him as I punched his chest
"I love you too, Hailey."
He grabbed my hands in his, preventing me from beating him to death. I scowled evilly at him.
"I told you it's not safe out here. Imagine if that wasn't me."
"I would have kicked their ass." I said as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Sure you would have." He laughed but I could see in his eyes he was worried about me. "Why were you out here anyway?"
I sighed. "I was just going for a walk. I needed some air and space."
"You have air and space in your back garden, Hailey. Its not safe to be out by yourself at 2am."
"Sorry, dad" I said sarcastically, pulling a face at him.
"I'm just looking out for you." He frowned. I smiled and hugged him tightly.
"I know."
"Lets get you back home. You're shaking like a leaf and it's late."

We sneaked back into my house, quietly tiptoeing up to my room. Zack flopped onto my bed and folded his hands behind his head. "Home sweet home." He sighed quietly.
"You wish." I laughed. "Close your eyes. Let me get changed into my pajamas."
"You're really going to trust me not to look at you?" He asked, raising his eyebrow. "I don't think that's such a good idea. You're just too hot to resist looking at." He winked.
"You're such a creep!" I whisper-yelled. "You leave then. This is my room."
"Fine" He huffed, slowly rising out of bed and leaving.
I shook my head. Why am I still friends with this guy?
I got changed into pj shorts and a tshirt then called him back in.
"Looking good" He said in a creepy voice as he looked me up and down. I slapped his chest and went to knee him in the crotch but he dodged.
"Heyyy! Too far." He yelled.
"Shhhh, you wimp! You'll wake my parents."
He rolled his eyes at me then lay down on my bed again, patting the space beside him. I lay down next to him and snuggled into his chest, glad for the comfort.
"So what happened tonight that made it so bad?" He asked sleepily.
"Well...I saved someone from committing suicide off the bridge..."
"What!?" He shot up, staring at me intently. "Are you okay?"
"Am I okay? Yeah, I wasn't the one trying to kill myself."
"You know what I mean, Hailey." He sighed impatiently.
"Yes. I am okay. Just a little shaken."
He pulled me into a tight hug. His hands were rubbing my back comfortingly and the exhaustion took over. I fell asleep in his arms only to dream of the man on the bridge.
