I waited. And waited until my so-called father went to sleep. I slid out my phone to check the time: 2:37 a.m. I sighed as I pulled my already packed luggage from under my bed and grabbed my stash of $700.(i'm American lol)12 years of saving and not being able to shop, it paid off. Creeping slowly, but quietly, to my door, I opened it making a small screeching noise. I winced at the sound.
I tried my hardest to stay silent, but quickly failed once my foot hit the old wood floor. I paused just to make sure "Dad" didn't hear. It was quite hard to move considering he hit me in the leg not too long ago. It left a long purple-blue bruise. Step. Ouch. Step. OW!! wtf -_- The pain was unbearable, but I had to cope in order to escape from this place. I heard the door opening.
Oh no. I saw a very groggy Greg.(hehe) He glanced up, eyes wide. Of course he would have a bat on him. He inched closer and i turned and ran. He grabbed me by the cardigan and turned me around. I saw him swing his bat up, already prepared to hit me. I looked around for some type of weapon. A vase. Wow. Better than nothing. I grabbed it and smashed it against the side of my dad's head. He stumbled a bit before falling to the ground, knocked unconcious.
I picked my bags up from the ground and ran straight to the door, not wanting to be here when he woke up. Thumb up. Eyes peeled. I doubt there was going to be a taxi cab here at this time, but I stood for about 3 more minutes until one arrived. Wow. I hopped in and realized I didn't even know where I was going.
"Where to ma'am?" the driver asked.
"uhh...London" I remember Mum always wanted to live in London. She called once to check if I was alive when i was 13. I bet she still lives there. I only lived about 3 hours away from there. I lived in Wolverhampton for geez sake. It took 2 and a half hours, actually. I tried searching for a hotel.
Shining bright letters "M O T E L" close enough. I entered and asked to say for one nigt. I'd stay until morning and then look for Mum and Liam. I handed him 45 dollars. My room was decent. A tv, balcony, queen bed, small bathroom, and a coffee table with a couch.
***Next morning***
I woke up and got dressed in black skinny jeans, oatmeal colored long sleeve, and red low top converse. I skipped down to the lobby and handed the key back, lugging my bags behind me. I reached an old picture of me and Liam out of my pocket. I smiled at the sight. I was suprised I didn't see the McDonald's across the street, last night.
I quickly ate my pancakes and bacon, they were serving breakfast still. Then something caught my eye. I spotted a man in line. He seemed familiar. That birthmark on his neck resembled Liam's. Although he had his hood up with sunglasses, I knew it was him. Why was he so low profile? Being basically locked up for 12 years, besides school and work at Starbucks, I didn't know what the latest news was. Anything could've happened while i was at home, being abused.
"erm...uh...excuse me mister?" I asked nervously.
He lowered his sunglasses. Right there. Big, chocolate brown eyes. Just like Li....
