It was the first day of the school year. (Y/n) walked into her first class nervously. Algebra. There were only a few students in the room when she walked in, she always like to get to school early. (Y/n) went straight to the back and sat in the corner. She like it best there, no one really paid attention to her.

Then something happened that took (Y/n) by surprise. Someone sat next to her. There are plenty of other seats open, she thought, so why did she sit by me?
"Hi, I'm Beverly. Are you new here?" She asked with a friendly smile.

(Y/n) looked at her embarrassed and said "No, I'm not, I'm (Y/n), I have lived in Derry my entire life. We've gone to school together for years."

Though (Y/n) didn't really know Beverly, she knew who she was. She was in a friend group with six other kids. They called themselves the Losers Club. It consisted of Stuttering Bill, that's what everyone called him, his brother George Denbrouh had died a few years ago; Eddie Kaspbrak, who always had medications with him; Ben Hanscom, who was overweight; Beverly Marsh, the only girl in the group, who had bad rumours spread about her for years; Richie Tozier, who was known for never knowing when to shut up; Mike Hanlon, an African American boy who had been homeschooled until last year; and Stan Uris, the Jewish boy, (Y/n) thought he was the cutest in the group.

"We have?" She says also embarrassed. "I'm sorry, you were in the back corner and I didn't recognize you so I just-"
"It's fine, I'm used to it" She interrupts.

And she was. It always happened. She never did anything to draw attention to herself and she never talk to anyone unless she had to. She didn't have any friends at school. (Y/n) wasn't sure anyone knew she even existed.

"Oh. Why haven't I seen you around then? You've seen me." Beverly asks.

"Dunno, no one ever does" (Y/n) said back quickly, wanting the awkward conversation to end.

"Oh, do you have lunch 5th period? You can eat with my friends and I if you want."

(Y/n) did have lunch 5th period and agreed to eat with the losers. She figured it would be better than eating alone like she usually.

When 4th period ended (Y/n) went to her locker to drop her books off and grab her lunch. She walked to Beverly's locker. They agreed to meet there and walk to lunch together.
When (Y/n) got to Beverly's locker Bill was there too.

"Hey (Y/n), this is Bill, but you probably knew that." She said with a laugh.

"Yeah" (Y/n) replied. "Hi Bill."

"Hi. Bev told me a-a-about you."

Beverly, Bill, and (Y/n) walked to the lunch room together talking as they went.

Thanks for reading the first chapter. I really hope you like it.
