The excitement started one fine April morning, when a post arrived at Lyceum Hostel in the name of Misty Waterflower, Dawn Berlitz and May Maple.
Lyceum Hostel was located in the Kanto region. It was a hostel for orphans or for children living in faraway places from their schools . Misty and her best friends Dawn and May fell in the second category.
Fourteen year old Misty rushed down the staircase followed by Dawn and thirteen years old May. The three were naturally very excited, because a post, that too in their name was the last thing they expected in the morning. The manager, Mrs. Minns, gave the letter to Misty.
The other residents of the hostel peered at the letter. Immediately, a conversation began among everybody . "How come they got admitted?" asked, a red haired girl," I am hundred percent sure that they don't even know what that symbol means."
The girl was correct. The three girls knew nothing what the symbol signified. They could only understand that it was a pokeball, surrounded by five creatures: a Lugia, a Rayquaza, a Dialga, a Reshiram, and a Xerneas. There was a writing in antique letters underneath it, which read: One more crosses the threshold of knowledge, not one less.
Mrs. Minns cried," Girls, silence!" She then turned to the three puzzled girls and said," Give me the letter," Misty handed the letter to Mrs. Minns. She tore the top of the envelope, and out came a long paper. She unrolled it and read it in her mind . She widened her eyes several times while reading, and shot a sideways glance to the three girls, standing next to her.
When she finished reading the paper, she looked at the children and said," You shall leave for your school the day after tomorrow. You three must have tremendous merit, otherwise why will Clover High School admit you?"
This statement left Misty, Dawn and May in utter shock, but they were also very excited. After all, it is not everyday that you get to leave your wretched school and join the most prestigious school the world has ever seen.
