3am

I woke up to the sound of my ringtone. My ringtone and alarm were the same sound so I didn't know which was which. If it was my alarm, it would be lighter outside...it was still dark.

I looked on my phone to see some random number pop up on my screen. Calling at 3am? Who the fuck is phoning me at this time?! I quickly answered the phone.

"Hello?" I said in a tired tone. "Jamie?" Said a familiar voice...Liam. "Liam, what time do you call this?!" I scream-whispered. "Can't sleep" he said in an emotionless tone.

oh yay, a time called 'can't-fucking-sleep'...you know, you really do learn something new everyday. "You can't sleep, so your spreading this so-called disease called 'can't sleep' are you now?" I said annoyed.

"What's your point?" He questioned, obviously too thick to realise what I meant. "My point is...that now I can't get back to sleep because you woke me up with an unwanted phone call!!"

I could sense the vulnerability even through the phone as he went silent. A few minutes into the silence, a noise was heard from the basement. Obviously, my bedroom was on the bottom floor. So the basement was right underneath.

I gasped when I heard the strange noise. It was like sticks being hit off of each other. "Wait- hold on a sec" informing Liam that I need to do something. That something. Was going downstairs to see what it was.

I hesitantly climbed out of bed and made my way to the basement. I opened the basement door that was under the stair case and went down the stairs that dimmed from the light from the kitchen into pitch black.

I slowly stepped down the stairs one by one, each making a creaking noise. I pulled out my phone to turn my torch on. I noticed spider webs and moths on the edges of the stairs. Looks like no ones been here for a while.

I continued going downstairs. I started to get a little light headed. It was as if all my energy was drained. It felt like I had a hectic day. But I just woke up from my sleep. That should've gained me energy for the rest of the day. But it only lasted minutes.

I began breathing heavily. It felt as if my lungs were being crushed, like someone had their arms around me, squeezing me so hard I couldn't breath.

I looked back. No one was there. I continued forward. Until the point it felt like my eyes were going to pop out from the lack of oxygen. I stopped myself on the banister, and took a breath.

I looked up to see the only source of light, it was coming from above. Shining down on a chair...a rocking chair. It was swinging back and fourth on its own.

There...it was a doll. A porcelain doll. Staring at me through my soul. She tilted her head as I felt a piercing pain in my chest. I clutched onto my chest to see...blood.

At that moment in time. Everything blacked out. Moment later I woke up...in my bed...no scarring on my chest and my phone beside me. Was this....

All a dream?
