BLAIRE'S POV

I sat down on my bed after I saw she was gone down the hallway. I thought to myself about what just happened. I wondered if she was bull shitting me or not about Tate. I mean, I haven't known him for very long, but the things she said about him couldn't be true.

I walked over to my door, closed it, and walked back to my bed to get some sleep. It wasn't early or anything, I just have been so tired for a while. I never did anything to tire me out or leave my room for anything but the bathroom and meals. I never really eat either. My parents think it's just a phase, but I'm not sure. This emptiness inside me feels so real I guess.

I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen from my bag, sat down at my desk, and decided to write down how I felt. After staring at the empty paper I realized how I felt. I am the paper. The paper is blank, empty. It can be so colorful but is naturally white. I feel more like construction paper though, black and hard.

I laid down on my pillow and tried to sleep until my slumber was invaded.

"Are you scared now?" I heard a voice say from the corner of room.

I looked around the dark room. I didn't see anyone, not that I could with the absence of a light. Even though I couldn't see who the voice belonged to, I knew who it was.

"No." I said with a broken voice.

"Blaire, I need you to know I'm not going to hurt you."

He stopped for a moment and I didn't know to believe him after what Violet said about him. I sat there and let him talk.

"I know Violet said some things about me and I need to explain myself."

"What she said," I started to ask him "She was lying, right?"

Tate shuffled his feet and tugged at his hair bit while looking down to the ground.

"Tate?" I asked again.

"No," he looked back up at me "She wasn't lying"

I was worried now but didn't show it.

"Tate, can I have some alone time?" I asked him totally overwhelmed.

He wore a disappointed face as he left my room to let me sleep.

"Goodnight, Blaire. I'll talk to you later."
