Stone watched as Thunder jumped up onto the great rock. Stone sat before the rock, watching his leader as it rained. Lightning flashes in the sky.

All of the other wolves of the pack joined Stone, sitting down in the mud watching upon their great, old, wise leader, Thunder.

"I have had my fair share of being leader, it was good while it lasted. But I am getting old." Thunder sat on the rock while rain poured down, making Stone's fur drenched.

"I am going to retire, I have chosen a couple of wolves to take my place, but only one wolf shall be leader" his words made Stone flinch. Thunder was Stone's leader for all of his life, now some wolf is going to replace him?

But Stone didn't think any further of his leader retiring, he thought of who has he chosen, and has he made the right choice?

The great fully white wolf with custardy colour on his underneath finnerly spoke, after hesitating for a bit.

" Claw and Stone are the two wolves I have chosen" the white and tan leader spoke words that made Stone jump. Why me? He thought.

Stone shook his fully black fur, trying to look good, getting rid of the rain. Claw came into sight, through the crowd. Claw hurried up to the front with Stone.

Claw licked his grey fur, trying to look neat. Stone flashed a glance at Claw. Am I going to have to battle him? He suddenly had bad thoughts.

What if it was " kill or be killed?" Stone didn't want to kill a young wolf. "Tomorrow the two wolves will have a match, in the battle pit!" Stone hesitated, but is it kill or be killed!? He asked himself.

"It will be kill or be killed, the remaining wolf will be leader." As Thunder spoke Stone flinched. Oh no, it's either I kill a young wolf, or he kills me! Stone glanced at Claw.

Claw snareled at Stone. Stone lifted his head, rain bucketing down onto his back.

Stone woke up. It was the next day!
Stone hurried out of his den, scared. Thunder and claw approached him. "It's time for our battle! Flea bag!" Claw snarled, aggregation glowing in his eyes.

"Yes I know, and only one of us will walk out of the arena." Stone spoke calmly to Claw, pushing away his worries. Claw was starting to get on Stone's nerves, mayby he is worth killing.

"Alright , are you two done cursing each other so we can get a move on to the battle pit?" Thunder was starting to get anoyed. "Ok let's go then" Stone padded over through the pack grounds and took a long dirt path towards a big pit of sand.

The whole pack followed, they wanted to see the fight. Stone reached the pit. He walked right into the middle of the fight pit.

Claw joined Stone, facing him. All of the wolves, including Thunder, sat down at the edges of the arena. "Fight!" Thunder barked. Stone flung himself at Claw, landing on-top of him.

Claws's legs where strechted out, diging into Stone's chest. Then Claw gripped with his paws and rolled over, pinning Stone. What am I going to do now? Stone thought, the young wolf wasn't letting him up.

Then Claw arched his neck with a snarl and bit down into Stone's neck. Pain raced through his body.

Stone's reflex was to push Claw off with his hind legs. Stone pushed him off. But Claw took Stone's neck with him, shredding Stone's neck.

Stone felt pain race up into his head. It wasn't even half a second later his body whent limp.

Then, darkness covered his vision.
