Prologue:
Valentine's Day is completely overrated. It sucks. It's just a way to sell overpriced candy and flowers and stupid love cards full of mush no one actually means.
Really. I'm not just saying that because I don't have a boyfriend. Or because the guy Max I went out with a few times turned out to be the biggest loser on earth. And I'm certainly not saying it because the guy I've been crushing on for years thinks of me as... well, I don't think he thinks of me as anything.
February Fourteenth is just a high pressure day for couples in love to go around flaunting that annoying love. And for all those who are not part of a couple and have no one to fawn all over them, they get to feel like crap. I hate it.
At normal high schools, the prom, is a big deal and even homecoming, but in my school all the major hype is over The Valentine's Dance. I find that so annoying. So ridiculous. So utterly stupid. So - of course I'm not going.
Seriously, I wouldn't even go if someone paid me.
