"I'll hold you"
"Even when the world turns it back on you"

'Tae?'
The door slams, echoing through the hollow apartment, followed by soft footsteps.
'Tae?' Jennie asks again, sharply inhaling.
'It's me'.
A deep, harsh voice replies as a familiar shadow appears on the faded white fabric they call curtains.
With a thud a warm body wraps around her waist, pulling her close.
'I missed you' Jennie softly says pulling him closer, softly touching a new bruise crawling up the side of his face.
'I'm so sorry.'
'For what?'
'For a lot.'
'It's okay Tae, just go to sleep, you need it' Jennie says, gently laying his head on her lap as he reclined back, not questioning it.
Jennie opens her eyes to a loud thud, finding herself in a car.
Soon Taeyong quickly seats himself in the driver's seat across from her. A handgun wrapped tightly in his grasp, breath beating unevenly.
'Taeyong, what's happening?' She asks looking out the car's shattered window carefully, too used to this.
'I'm sorry baby, we have to go now' he replies, reaching for the car brake once jamming the keys into the ignition.
Before his hand takes hold of the brake Jennie suddenly wraps her hand around the ripped leather of the operator,
'Tae, what's happening?'
'Jennie, you have to trust me, please, everything's going to be okay-' He says as a gunshot is heard, finishing his sentence short.
Jennie reluctantly draws her hand back as Taeyong quickly takes control, starting the car.
He quickly reverses before driving into a back alleyway, way too narrow for a car, instead of the main street they had used during the past month living in their crap apartment.
Too distracted by her own thoughts blurring reality next thing Jennie knows they're on the highway.
2 AM, no cars, just the occasional blinding highway lights overhead, reflecting off what is left of her shattered window. She spies her reflection in the stained, dust-covered side view mirror before retracting her attention from it.
She hears Taeyong grunt under his breath as he grits his teeth, eyes focused on the empty road.
Jennie refrains from speaking, she trusts him right..?
Of course, she tells herself, looking down into her lap trying to distract herself, picking at the rips in her jeans.
Suddenly the car jolts furiously causing her to look up, confused.
'Where are we?'
No reply.
Before she can ask again he gets out. Quickly she follows before he grabs Jennie's hand pulling her with him towards a dark, abandoned warehouse.
Once they enter Taeyoung pulls her down behind a big crate in a corner.
He leans back against the cool, solid surface, breath finally slowing. Jennie places herself next to him, holding him tightly. Gripping his abdomen in both fear and affection, cold sweat coating her palms.
Taeyong pulls her into his hold as she leans her head against his collarbone, sensing his steady pulse. Jennie feels her lips rise as she smiles, loving moments like this when they're together.
Her smile quickly fades like these moments as he pulls her away. A gunshot is heard in near distance followed by several car doors being slammed.
'Shit, shit, shit' Taeyong mumbles under his breath before turning to Jennie, grabbing her hands, wrapping his around her's. Though cut and rough to the touch, her own soft fingers embrace his.
'Jennie, I'm so sorry, I know words are never enough, but, Jennie, I love you so fucking much, just please wait for me, I promise I'll be back soon, okay? This isn't a good bye, I promise.'
'No, Taeyong, please don't, don't leave me, please' voice breaking, almost spilling into a scream. Tears return, running down her face. Stinging as the cold air brushes against her blushed cheeks, staining her fair skin.
Being too acquainted with the pain of reality, she was almost certain he was lying. Despite this scene being played over and over again like a broken vinyl she always felt the pain, the pain of losing him.
Taeyong gently holds her, a hand softly placed in Jennie's long, brown hair. Wiping her tears with his other one. Admiring her beauty in the darkness with only the illumination of a street light, shining through the cracks in the broken roof. She feels him kiss her lips softly before disappearing into the shadows.
'Taeyong, please come back.'
Holding herself, knees pulled in, arms wrapped around them protectively. Gunshots fill her ears, causing her eyes to overflow with tears, trying not to make a sound.
Soon the gunshots fade out one by one. Jennie hears a gunshot followed by a bang. Then silence.
She notices a shadow appear in front of her, cast down onto the concrete floor, roughly defined in the light of the moon.
A familiar shadow.
'Taeyong!'
Jennie quickly bounds up from behind the crate before running into him, holding him in a hug. With a thud his gun drops to the floor as he wraps his arms around her pulling towards him, holding her tightly.
'You came back.'
'Of course, I promised you, remember?' he says, softly whispering into her ears as he buries his face in her soft hair.
'Thank god, never do that again, I love you, Taeyoung."
"You know I can't guarantee that-"
Suddenly Taeyong collapses into her arms as a gunshot echoes through the hollow building.
Jennie, trying to think through the sudden fog of panic surrounding her, pulls him behind a crate before laying him on the floor.
'Tae' Jennie says, fear lacing her voice, cradling his head gently.
'Jennie'
'Taeyong, stay, please, you-'
'I'm sorry'
'No, Tae please! Taeyong don't give up, I love you so much, you're my entire fucking world- you promised me-'
Cut off by a soft kiss,
'I love you, Jennie'.
Taeyong closes his eyes slowly as Jennie searches his face for a sign, waiting. Two single tears roll down her porcelain flushed skin as she feels her face go numb.
Soon she feels a cold, metallic pain enter her, puncturing her already broken heart.
'I love you too'.
