Chapter 4- A Deal With The Devil (Brody)

Julia's POV
I sipped my caramel frap as I jot down some important notes I have to memorize fir the big exam tomorrow. "So, dah, dah, dah, dah, blah, blah, blah.." Josiah said. I could tell she wasn't having too much fun. My phone rang. I picked it up. It was my mom, Blaire Watson. I picked up, of course. "Hey, mom?" I said. I continued to drink my frap. "Hey, what's up? I just called to check on you, are you studying?" She asked. "Yes, we are. Now, bye mom." I said. "Okay, bye!" Mom said. I hung up. "Oof, sorry." I said to the group.

"No worries." Nigel said. "Now let's continue studying!" Josiah exlaimed. "Okay, okay." I said. I was bored...

Kirsten busted in the apartment. "Oh GEEZZJUS--" I yelled. ".........." "woops, ah, sorry!" I laughed. "Well, I decided to go study with you guys, sorry for declining your offer." Kirsten replied. "Oh, it's okay." I said. "I took down some notes, if you guys wanna copy off it." Kirsten chuckled. "Yeah, sure, would be helpful." Josiah said.

-Time Skip- 1st day of senior year
3rd Person POV
"Oh wow, I'm not so excited." Nigel exlaimed. "Me neither..." Julia replied. Kirsten held Nigel's hand. He looked over. "Heh, sorry... I'm not used to leaving you behind." Kirsten said. "Oh, uh.. it's fine." Nigel smirked. "#UPRISINGDAZZLE #KIRSTEL #EVERYTHINGGGG" Julia and Josiah both yelled. "Can you not see we're in a middle of the parking lot and you guys are screaming?" Nigel laughed. "Oh, yeah haha." Josiah said.

"Crap! I forgot my binder and sketchbook." Kirsten said. "Get it quick!" Nigel said. "Yeah, okay, I'll be back!" Kirsten said as she ran back to the apartments.

"So, we just gonna have to wait here?" Nigel whined. "Yes, now stop acting like a baby!" Josiah said. "Lol okay." Nigel replied.

On the way back to the apartment, Kirsten spotted someone. "Looking for this?" A familiar voice said. They were wearing a hoodie, but once they looked up, it was Brody. "Give it back." Kirsten said crossings her arms. "I don't have time for this crap." Kirsten said. "I'll give it back IF... You meet me after school in StarBucks. 'Kay?" Brody replied. "Fine." Kirsten answered. Brody gave back Kirsten's sketchbook and art binder. Kirsten ran back to the parking lot. "Okay, let's go." Kirsten said. She never looked back.

"Here are your test papers." Mr. Kelp said passing out the english test papers that the friends were studying about. "Let's hope we get the best grades." Josiah whispered. Mr. Kelp walked back to his desk, which was in front of the classroom with a timer. "Your time starts..." Mr. Kelp said. "Now!" He exclaimed. All the students were working hard and trying their best. The classroom became quiet. All they can hear is each other's pencils moving.

Time skip (There really wasn't much to say.)

"Time's up." Mr. Kelp said. English class was their last class of the day. Julia, Nigel, Josiah, And Kirsten packed their things up. Kirsten looked at the clock. Fudge, I'm going to be late. Kirsten thought. Julia was browsing through her sketchbook. Kirsten did as well, she was looking at some fashion designs she had came up with.

"That looks nice." Josiah peeked. "Uh, thanks. It's just a sketch, but yeah. Thanks." Kirsten replied. "Anyway, anyone up for a game night?" Nigel asked. "Well, I don't see if I have quite the time for that, I can squeeze it in if I can. But I don't know. You guys can do that, I'll be on my way." Kirsten said looking at her phone, texting Brody. "Hey, who you texting?" Julia peeked at her phone. "Uh! Uhm! Nothing!" Kirsten laughed nervously as she tried to block her view. "As I said, I'll be on my way, I'm going to be late." Kirsten said rushing. "Wow." Nigel said.

Time skip to StarBucks

Kirsten rushed to the apartment, got dressed quickly and got an Uber to goto Starbucks.

Kirsten entered the Uber and off they went to Starbucks. The friends spotted her in the Uber and wondered where she was going. She would usually take the subway and walk there to her work. But, guess not. "Huh." Josiah mumbled. "Where you think she's going to?" Julia asked. "I don't have a clue." Nigel murmured.

Kirsten payed the Uber, got off and went to Starbucks. She opened the doors. Where is he at? Kirsten wondered. Kirsten looked around the cafe and found him. Brody was sitting by himself. Looking at his phone, and sipping coffee with a bagel. Kirsten sat down, in front of him. Brody looked up. "Now, what?" Kirsten asked. "Well--" Brody was interrupted. Kirsten's phone rang
She opened her phone and she got a new text message. It was Nigel. "Hey, you coming with us? We're going to Starbucks." Nigel texted. "Shit." Kirsten whispered. "Hurry up and finish what you're gonna say!" Kirsten exclaimed. "Woah, such in a hurry are you? What's the matter?" Brody said. Kirsten's phone vibrated.
'NEW TEXT MESSAGE FROM ii_darii'
Kirsten looked at the new message.
"We're on our way to starbucks." Julia texted. "Shit shit shit.." Kirsten murmured. "Hurry up, the gang is on their way." Kirsten said. "Doesn't Josiah have a chip on you?" Brody asked. Kirsten looked over her shoulder.

"Wow. Clever." Kirsten said. She took the micro chip off flicked it away. "Okay, go, hurry." Kirsten said. "So, as I was saying, I need you to do something for me." Brody said. "You need to go through Nigel's stuff and find a locket." Brody continued. "WHAT?! What's the locket for?!" Kirsten exclaimed. "It's something.. you need to get it. Or else you'll be punished." Brody said. "What's the consequence?" Kirsten asked with curiosity.

"You'd have to be with me for a day." Brody said. "What a guy you are." Kirsten said.
