CHAPTER 40

"Mike can you talk to her? You guys are pretty close." Tony mumbled as we walked backstage to our next show

"Yeah, Tone she's just upset." He said hesitantly

"Yeah I guess." He rubbed the back of his neck.

I walked in and opened up my camera case. I took out my favorite camera and cleaned the lenses. Snap, take a practice shot. Mike came and sat next to me while everyone went to do their check. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it. My arm is still pretty weak from last night but I still tried to squeeze it back and tired to not draw attention to it.

"Kris? Are you okay? After dinner you just stormed off last night and no one herd from you after that." He stated

"Mike, I'm fine, honestly. Last night cleared my mind and i'll be back on the bus tonight." I gave him a small smile

"Your lying." he replied. He grabbed my wrist and pulled my sleeve sweater down. I was wearing a few bracelets. He moved those down and saw my cuts. I stood up off the couch and headed for the pit. Tears pricked my eyes but I tried blinking them away but it didn't work out as well. A few of them had managed to escape from my eyes. I let everyone down. The people I cared about, the people who I love. The people who love me back.

"Kris wait!" Mike yelled behind me. But I didn't bother to stop and see what he had to say. I felt arms grab my wrist. I pulled away and looked up and saw Mike standing there. His eyes looked broken. Gently I grabbed my wrist and slightly rubbed it to help with the pain as I walked down the steps towards the pit.

There was already a bunch of kids standing at the front of the pit. It seemed like the whole floor was filled with screaming kids. Someone placed their hand under my chin and lifted my head to face them. It was Faith. She looked more broken than Mike. Her thumbs came up by my eyes and fix my make-up. I let out a small chuckle.

"I'm sorry Kris. I really am. I should have never said that to you yesterday. I feel so bad. You will pro bally never forgive me aga-" I cut her off as I pulled her in for a hug. Her blue hair was now longer and just to her shoulders and she had it tied back into a very small pony tail.

"No I'm sorry I shouldn't have stormed off like that." I said pulling away

"So were alright then?" She asked as the blue swirl in her beautiful grey eyes standed out against the lights from the stage.

"Yeah were fine. I'll be back on the bus tonight so we can play video games together if you want to." I said smiling.

"That would be great."

Tony and Mike came running out onto the stage and everyone started yelling and cheering. Vic and Jaime followed. Vic ran up to the microphone and did his little intro: "Hello Salt Lake City! This one is called May these noises startle you in your sleep tonight."

*The song list for the show*

May these noises startle you in your sleep tonight

Hell Above

Bulls in the Bronx

I'm low on gas and you need a jacket

The First Punch

One Hundred sleepless Nights

And then I got called to the stage.

"We would like Kris to join us up on stage for this next song." Vic said. I was backstage at this time and I slowly came out onto the stage. A flood of red came to my cheeks. I was nervous. Why did they want me on stage for?
