***************

“Alice, wake up…” a voice called. “Alice, wake up!”  I opened my lazy eyes at the noise, and rubbed my eyes lazily yawning and stretching my hands.

“What time is it?” I asked Bird, rubbing my eyes.

   “It’s almost noon!” she scolded.

   “WHAT?!” I snapped at her.

“I’m just kidding; get up Alice…” she wined. “Come on, let’s have some fun. I’m bored. Let’s go get breakfast, it’s almost 8 in the morning.” I slide off of my bed and goes over to the bathroom and took a fast shower. When I came out Bird went on and on about how her date with Jason went last night. “It was so romantic, we had a lot of fun… we danced and talked and laughed. He was very cute, and then we went and made out in a privet room. Don’t get the wrong idea! We didn’t have sex!”

“Why didn’t you? You like him don’t you?” I asked smirking at her. Going over to my closet and trying to pick out a good outfit for today.

“Yeah, of course I like him. But it’s a really bad habit to have sex on your first date!” she helped me pick an outfit coming over to my closet.

“Like you haven’t done it before.” I laughed, and picked out blue shirt along with a blue mid-thigh length skirt. “We will see if Jason and you will get along unlike last time. Plus this isn’t your first date.” I got out of my sweat pants and pajama shirt, and wore the skirt and went down stairs. Bird followed me.

“Good morning, sunshine’s.” Mom said feeding Matt. There were two cups of tea along with our favorite sandwiches.

“Good morning mom.” I said as Bird said “Good morning, Mrs. Kellwood” I set down on the chair next to mom.

“Ace, pwe in haw pants while shw slept.” I choked on my sandwich.

“Mom! Make Matt shut his ugly mouth!” I wined at mom. Birdy laughed and did a high five with Matt.

“Alice, honey, Matt is just a four year old child.” Mom said, and anger boiled inside me. I took a deep breath and ate my sandwich.

“How was your date, Birdy?” mom asked Birdy.

“Awesome!” she said eating her sandwich, so it came out as “Aweshom!” and she made an OK sign with her hand.

I smiled at my family while eating. The rest went on silent except Matt and Birds’ little chit chats. I quickly emptied my plate and went to get ready for school.

......

“Why are you so angry at me?” Birdy dragged.

“I’m not mad at you, I’m just a little… disappointed.” I said as I parked the car in the lawn.

“Why are you disappointed? It’s no big deal…” she wined.

“I’m disappointed because you didn’t tell me about it for over a year. Why would you not tell me about it?” I looked at her and looked back at the road.

“Because it’s a secret. You don’t tell to people secrets. And this is my personal secret.” She said to me.

“Fine, I won’t be disappointed anymore. But you have to tell me any other secret that you haven’t told me…yet.” I added, as I went to my locker and took out my books.
