His job is a Detective Inspector with the Brighton Police Force

Mark Jones is Eleanor Jones Father, 5 years ago he lost his wife to Cancer, but thanks to his Daughter, he became a great single father and spends a lot of time with her, playing video games, baking, going out on fun days.
He does know that his Daughter is a Lesbian and is totally fine and even teases Eleanor on her crush on Veronica
