*Logan’s POV*

I woke up and got dressed in my usual attire, my wife beater, leather jacket, jeans, and combat boots. Then I styled my hair just the way I liked it and headed for the door. Locking the door behind me as I slipped out, I decided to go see it Rayne wanted to go for a quick sparing session before classes started. I gently knocked on the door, in case she was still sleeping. When I got no answer, I slowly opened the door and stuck my head in. “Rayne…” still no answer. When on the third call I still got no answer, I stepped inside closing the door behind me. I was quickly engulfed in darkness, I flipped the light on and the room was empty Rayne was nowhere to be found. I was beginning to worry, I took in a couple deep breaths to try and catch her scent, but hers was not the only one I found. There was another familiar scent that lingered in the air, my eyes widened with a mix of fear and anger “Sabertooth,” I let out a loud menacing growl as I said his name.  I headed straight for the door and down to the garage, I had to find her before Sabertooth did anything to her. I started up my bike, letting it idle for a couple minutes while I tried to contact the professor. Once I got ahold of him and caught him up on the situation, I sped down the drive way and onto the main road leaving nothing but a trail of dust behind me.

*Back to Rayne’s POV*

I slowly opened my eyes as my vision adjusted to my surroundings. I was in a small room, lying on a bed that was against the wall. As I tried to sit up, my visions swirled around me so I lay back down. My head was throbbing, even with my healing abilities my body ached all over as if I had been hit by a semi-truck. All of a sudden the memories of what transpired last night came flooding back to me. I remember all of my classes, all the rumors of Logan and myself, then saying good night to Logan…and then blackness. That’s right I was hit over the head by something, or someone. Tears began to fill my eyes as the reality of what had happened began to sink in. I tried to blink them away but it was pointless, the tears just kept coming.

My body stiffened and my eyes grew wide with fear as the doorknob began to turn from the outside. I could hear my heartbeat in my head as the door slowly swung open revealing a taller man, he was dressed in an all-black floor length leather trench coat with a black tee shirt under that, it clung to his body showing off his well-toned upper torso. He also wore a pair of camouflage army pants with a pair of standard black combat boots. “Ah, good you’re awake,” he smiled at me revealing a pair of pointed canine fangs. It sent a shiver down my spine instantly giving me goosebumps even though it wasn’t cold in the room. I slowly sat up giving my body time to adjust as I slid back against the wall. I held my knees in close to my chest as I hid my face in my lap. I could hear his footsteps as he neared the bed, and I also felt the mattress sink closer to the floor as he sat on the bed. Looking up from my lap I came face to face with my captor.

He had dark grey eyes, along with the same kind of facial hair that Logan has. I felt a chill run down my spine as his large rough hand ran down my leg. He smiled at me again as he did this. “My brother doesn’t deserve you,” he growled. That’s when he pounced on me and before I knew it, he was on top of me. He held my hands above my head with one of his hands and ran a clawed finger down my neck all the way to my shirt. Smirking down at me, his face was getting closer to mine and all of a sudden his lips crashed down on mine and there was nothing I could do about it. I struggled beneath him and he just tightened his grip, he ran another claw over my face, slicing the skin allowing the crimson red blood to trickle down my face before the cut healed itself. He smirked again, “oh now this is going to be fun.”

Just as he was about to slice my shirt open he stopped. He was silent as he sniffed the air then he hissed “Jimmy.” He climbed up off of me and readied himself for the attack, when all of a sudden a giant hole was created in the wall and Sabertooth was on the ground with the mystery man on top of him. That’s when I realized that it was Logan. Logan proceeded to stab him in the chest with his extended claws causing Sabertooth to howl out in pain. Sabertooth kicked Logan in the gut sending him flying across the room and out the hole in the wall he had made. He slammed hard against a tree causing his back to break along with a couple ribs and his arm. This all healed within seconds. Logan proceeded to run toward the giant hole, tackling his brother in the process. I heard a loud crack as Sabertooth’s head hit the ground and he was knocked unconscious. Standing, Logan held out his hand for me to grab, but I think I was in shock because the last thing I remember I felt two large arms surrounding me in a hug and then they lifted me into the air. I leaned my head into his chest it made me feel safe as I listened to his steady heart beat in his chest and I drifted off to sleep.

The next thing I knew, I had awakened in the school hospital with Logan sitting beside me holding my hand. When I moved Logan looked at me with a kind smile, “hey kid how are you feeling?” I smiled and sat up “I’m doing good…just a little sore.” We both just sat there for the longest time smiling at one another, until our silence was broken by Hank, Jean, and the professor walking into the room. They all smiled when they saw I was awake, I smiled back at them “thank god for having a healing factor.” We all laughed, but then the mood shifted to a more serious note. The professor started talking “in all seriousness though, we are going to have to start keeping a more watchful eye out now that Sabertooth knows about you two.” I gave him a quick smile followed by a nod of understanding, and after a few more tests I was free to go. Logan walked me up to my room, but I stopped before we entered, “c-c-can I sleep in your room…just for tonight?” He smiled down at me and pulled me into him kissing me with more passion than he ever has before, “I’ll take that as a yes.” We both laughed as we walked into his room and fell asleep in each other’s arms.
