stands
in the middle of
trees after trees
The sunlights tips smother
the leaves
and the wind blows
kissing the plants just
so delectly
making them seem
as if they had a life of their own
And perhaps they do
It's also quiet
He adds,
standing
by her side
It's peaceful.
I like to come here when things
aren't as they're supposed to be
and just...
She finds herself nodding
knowing just what he means
She used to have a place like this
a place she could just go
and...be
A place
she didn't need to smile for anyone
A place
she didnt need to look over her shoulder
every other second
But then Dad found out
about the place
She closes her eyes
trying to take the image away of what happened when he found it
And when she opens them
He stands in front of her

He asks so softly
she barely hears his words
