Author's note: Sorry it's so short! It's basically a transitional chapter, there will be more to come!
Sophie’s P.O.V.
I smiled to myself while sitting on my bed doing homework. Everything seemed right again. Well, mostly right. There was obviously the whole Louis and Eleanor, as well as Louis and Harry, situation. But I was glad to have Harry back. I wasn’t sure whether there’d be anything going on between us. But I knew that if I was being honest with myself, I did still see Harry in a romantic way.
My cell phone went off. Speak of the devil, Harry had just texted me: I still want that date ;). I felt butterflies in my stomach. This actually was going to happen. But could we really just start over after what happened? Well, I was willing to find out. I replied: Tomorrow night works for me. Just a few seconds later, he replied saying that it worked for him too.
I went back to doing homework, but my excitement over Harry made it difficult to focus. I didn’t want to bother with school tomorrow; I just wanted to skip past it and go straight to my date. I had finally finished my second math problem when I got another text—from Eleanor. It read: Hey, girls night tomorrow at my house, bring popcorn. Well this was awkward. Blowing off a girls’ night to hang out with a boy probably wouldn’t go over well. It only made it worse that Eleanor was going through guy issues right now. But in my defense, I had the plans with Harry first…by a few minutes.
Sometimes we lie to protect others, and sometimes to protect ourselves. This time, I did it for both reasons: Sorry El, but I’ve got a family thing tomorrow :P
Harry’s P.O.V.
I thought about Sophie and smiled. It felt really good having someone to count on again. I knew I had to do something a little bit special for her tomorrow. I needed to make sure she knew I cared. She opened herself up to me and I owed her for that.
I considered taking her to a nice restaurant, but decided against it. Some fancy place would be too stuffy for us to really enjoy ourselves, and I didn’t feel like Sophie was that kind of girl anyway. Maybe a movie? No, then we couldn’t talk at all. All of a sudden, I got an idea; one of my best, I’d say.
