*Rini's pov*

The next day I actually made it to school on time. As I walked into homeroom Melisa ran up to me. "Rini!" she exclaimed, excited to see me, "How are you doing?" "I'm doing great," I reply, "just trying not to be bored." That made us both laugh. A few minutes later Sensei Makita came in. "Good morning class." she said. "Good morning Sensei." everyone answered. Sensei continued. "Today our classes will be outside. It seems the principal has organized a day out for us. A student who used to come here was quite a musical talent and is happy to show us some things."

We all cheered, causing Sensei to chuckle. "Grab your things and meet in front of the school." About fifteen minutes later we all met outside. Once Sensei had our attention she spoke. "We will be meeting our guest at the park. Please behave." When we got to the park we headed for the shade of the trees. Once we got comfortable I brought  out my guitar that I left with Auntie Ikuko. I played a soft melody that left me in a trance. Soon I heard a familiar voice say, "Well, someone's jumped the gun." 

Looking up, I came face to face with Serena, Darien standing a few paces behind her. "Uh well," I said nervously, "I was bored so I decided to play." Who knew I'd be nervous in front of Serena? After she greeted all of us Serena began speaking to us as a group. "I've been told that Ms. Makita has told you what's happening today so I'll get started." Darien and her sat on the grass then Serena continued. "In my senior year at Jüban High School I took up an old hobby of mine, music. I was supposed to show you my skills and songs. However, one of you has shown a level of proficiency with the guitar."

Pausing, Serena looked at me. "Rini would you mind playing something?" she asked. I thought for a moment then nodded. Picking up my instrument, a thought of a song. Taking a breath, I began to play.

As I finished playing I heard rousing cheers and applause. I looked up with a puzzled expression on my face. "Huh?" Chuckling, Serena said, "That was really good. Is that an original or a song you learned?" I replied, "A song I picked up from a movie I saw." Sensei smiled at me, something that didn't happen often. "Care to play another song?" she asked. I paused to think then answered, "Sure if that's okay." Everyone nodded in anticipation. And so I began to play once more.

I waited patiently for Elliott at the park like I said I would. As I sat there I wondered, What if he doesn't like me like he used to?  Thought after thought raced across my mind, most good but there were a few negative ones.  

"Rini!" a voice called out. I turned to see who called my name, coming face to face with Elliott. "Well hello." I said, a giggle escaping my lips. "How are you?" Elliott asked me. "I'm good," I replied, "Just tired after a long day." As we talked the two of us sat down on the bench I had been sitting on. We spoke of times past and the silly things we'd do from time to time. After a while I said, "I wrote a song for this because I missed you so much." Then I played.
