My alarm woke me up on a typical Tuesday morning. 7:30 was way too early. I groaned as I pushed myself to get out of my bed and shut off my alarm, which was on the other side of my bedroom, so I wouldn't be tempted to shut it off, and go back to sleep.
As I got out of bed, goosebumps instantly covered me. I groaned again. I hate getting out of bed; but then again who does? I walked to my dresser and opened one of the drawers. I decided to wear a black skater skirt and a floral print crop top. I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. Damn my hair. I thought. My hair was long and brown, and it was always extremely frizzy. Which of course was annoying as hell. I attacked my hair with my hairbrush, and put anti-frizz serum in it. Which didn't work because my hair was still frizzy. I sighed and put it in a messy bun. I then applied eyeliner and mascara.
"Mia! Are you up yet?" My mom called.
"Yeah mom! Just a sec!"
I had an older brother, Zach. Who was two years ahead of me. He was captain of the football team, popular, but also top of his class.
I just had my brother and my mom. I never met my dad, since my mom got pregnant with me at 17 and Zach at 15. My relationship with my mom was off and on. We fought quite a bit. Often about very stupid things.
I walked downstairs, the aroma of bacon and pancakes hitting my nose.
"Good morning." My mom greeted me, with a smile. "Pancakes or French toast?"
"Both please."
"Eat quickly, Zach wants to get to school a little early today."
I rolled my eyes. My goody two-shoes brother.
I ate my breakfast slowly to annoy my 'perfect' brother. I was apparently nothing compared to him.
"Hurry up squirt." Zach called running down the stairs. I finished the last of my French toast/pancakes and grabbed my backpack.**
My best friend Evelyn greeted me at my locker after second period. She had full lips and long brown hair. She looks like a combination of Megan Foxx and Angelina Jolie.
"What do you have next?" She asked.
"Study hall. What about you?"
"Algebra."
"O! Have you seen the new kid?" She asked, her cheeks red.
"Umm, no what grade is he in?"
"I think he's a Junior."
"Is he cute?"
"He's right there!" She said, grabbing my arm, pointing at a cute brunette.
My jaw dropped. He had medium long hair and even from across the hallway, you could tell he had vibrant green eyes.
"Oh my god." I said slowly. He looked in my direction. I grabbed Evelyn's arm.
"He looked at me!" I squealed.
He winked at me. I looked behind me, to see if he was winking at someone else. There was no one behind me. He smiled at me. Oh God. What am I getting myself into.
