Note:

Sorry for the late update, I sorta had a mental breakdown Sunday night. I didn't realize how unstable I've been lately, so I'm sorry if it's affecting my work on here.

On a different note,

Should I do a cast list for this book? I have a few in mind but I don't know...

Anyway,

enjoy

Sam's POV

-

Jordan ended up dropping me off a block down the street despite wanting to drop me off in front of my house. She didn't want me walking in the dark at night and said that there was no way anyone could recognize her car or her face through the tinted glass.

However, I still insisted on walking the couple hundred feet to my house, because I didn't want to take any chances with questions or people freaking out over the fact that I was hanging out with Jordan.

Jordan obliged but still trailed behind me with dim headlights to make sure I got to my house safely. Once I reached my driveway, I noticed that there were a bunch of cars. I sighed, forgetting that there was a possibility that Alexis and Bethany were coming over tonight. (Which ultimately meant that everyone was coming over.)

I entered my house, embracing myself for the questions regarding where I was, but none came as I noticed that most of my friends were in the kitchen talking away. I sighed in relief, removing my shoes by the door, then walking over to the kitchen to see who was all here.

Once I entered the kitchen, Alexis and Bethany both turned towards me as they were both by the counter by the sink. Alexis was sitting on top of the counter while Bethany was standing at the bottom, both of her hands beside Alexis' legs as they both cuddled into each other.

"Hey," Alexis stammered out before moving slightly away from Bethany. I watched as Bethany gave Alexis an annoyed look before saying hello to me too.

"Hi," I mumbled while Jason moved over to me and wrapped his muscular, tattooed arm around my shoulder.

"HIYA, kiddo. Want a drink?" He slurred out before ruffling up my light hair despite my annoyance. However, I was kinda happy that no one noticed my disappearance as Alex also waved to me from across the room, and from the other end of the kitchen, Isabelle let out a small smile but looked away from me. My heart pulsated and died a little bit from seeing her disinterest in me tonight. Why didn't she want me anymore?

"N-No thanks, I'm just going to chill tonight, Jason." I said as I went to the fridge to get some cranberry juice. I didn't feel like drinking just because I was so full from my dinner, I didn't think my stomach could handle alcohol without throwing it all up.

"Aw," He sighed as he took a sip of the beer he was drinking. He walked away to the kitchen island that stood at the middle of the room and went to talk to a familiar light-headed girl. My breath caught in my throat as I watched Cameron sneak a glance at me.

I bit my lip as my stomach sort of plummetted, remembering the story Jordan told me only an hour ago. Now, the green eyes that I liked so much a few months ago, didn't seem as inviting.

What I still didn't understand was if Cameron was known for doing all of these bad things, then why were our friends so close to her? Why were they so willing to be friends with someone as destructive as Cameron?

Was there still a slight possibility that Jordan was lying? Or was Cameron that deceiving?

I sipped on my cranberry juice while looking around the room. I was slightly confused to see that Isabelle and Alex were on different sides of the kitchen, usually, they'd be all over each other on a friends night like this.
