It was that day... that cursed day that signified the beginning of the end...

Part 1

For the next few months that soon turned to years, Emiko and Kyoko continued seeing each other more often that every day after school, the two girls would meet together and hang out in all different locations around the city from shops, restaurants, cafes, and everywhere teenagers would usually go to.

Each one of them had already introduced the other to her parents, making the mothers more than happy to see that her daughter finally had a close friend. What was in common with them, surprisingly, is that their fathers can be a little... intimidating.

The day finally came to an end, wherein the sunset served as a cue for the two girls playing in the park to head to their homes.

There, they were on their way to their homes cheerfully walking and talking as well as they paced forward.

"You know... I won't be shocked if you get yourself a few more friends," Kyoko began, her eyes glued up to the sky. "You're a great person, you just don't see it."

"Y-you think so?" Taken aback, Emiko asked. "I never had the thought of anyone liking me. But, I trust your words. I feel hopeful that I will prolly have another friend or two!"

Emiko cheerfully shared her positive way of thinking to her one and only friend. Though she continued to walk as she talked, seconds have passed she hasn't gotten any response from her friend.

"Right, Kyoko?"

The girl said as she finally stopped her tracks and turned her head to her back to take a peak for her friend.

And to her greatest shock, she was just talking to thin air.

Terrified for a moment, she scanned the whole park with the whole area her eyes can see, but there was still no sign of Kyoko in the area.

Where could have she been?

Worry started to fill Emiko's mind, and questions remained unanswered.

"Kyoko?! Kyoko?! Where are you?! Hey, Kyoko?!" Emiko ran all over the park calling her friend's name desperately who wasn't replying to her.

"Woof, woof!" Even Maxi was trailing behind as well, seemingly worried for her owner's best friend. And her best friend.

A few moments ago

A girl stopped her tracks in the middle of her way home, which her friend did not notice as she was left behind.

What caused her to stop was a very stunning sight of the sun setting.

Of course, she knew that sunset occurred, but that was the first time in her long journey in life she saw a perfect angle and perfect view. The scenery attracted her eyes and captivated her five senses entirely, making her chest flutter in both joy and warmth.

With the branches of the tree present in the scenery, it doubled its aesthetic. The nature God made for His people, was indeed very amazing and could steal someone's eye.

"Wow..."

This word escaped Kyoko's lips unintentionally, as her mouth was opened in awe. She had always loved how amazing the skies look, as well as the deep color of the ocean. There, the sky had a variety of colors from yellow and orange to red with a hint of blue and white hues.

She immediately took her phone out and opened her camera and to her great disappointment, it was not as beautiful as what her cerulean eyes saw. Maybe a closer picture would be better?
