Michael had just completed something he'd been working on for a year now. His heart and soul had gone into this project. It'd all started with a computer engineering class he'd taken the previous school year. After that class, he kept continuing to develop and improve the invention he'd created for that single assignment. It took up all his day, all his time, money, and effort, but it was worth it. It would be worth it in the end at least.

What was this invention? A time traveling machine. State of the art, brand new. It had only been tested by Michael's brother, Rich (who said it was pretty fuckin' cool to go back to 1986 and tear it up as he said), and it worked just fine, so Michael figured he'd give it a try. Michael's ideal was to go back to 1996, 22 years before. He wanted to be able to be in the age he romanticized and practically lived in in 2018, but have everyone else around him living it too! No iPhones, no iPads, no Despacito. Just Game Boys, Buzz Lightyear action figures, BoB mArLeY (even though Bob Marley was more 70's and 80's, he was still closer to the Bob Marley era than he was in 2018!) and the Backstreet Boys. His ideal.

Michael excitedly hopped into his machine and quickly pressed in the year he wanted to go to. He was practically bursting with excitement and jubilance. This was what he'd wanted for such a long time, and he was finally going to live it! He was ecstatic to say the least.

The Filipino's eyes squeezed shut as he felt the machine start to work. When he opened them, he ended up in a simple suburban neighborhood with the joystick of his time machine in his hand. He quickly stuffed it in the large pocket of his hoodie, then started to look around. All the houses were spotless, the windows clear and smudgeless, and the window sills polished. Gardening was on point and everything looked well kept.

Michael pursed his lips. This isn't exactly what he imagined the 90's being like, but that's okay. He was bound to be in for a surprise anyways! Michael was about to start walking down the road when he heard a voice call out in his direction.

"Hey!" The voice exclaimed, it seeming to come closer with him as the word went on, "Who're you?" The voice was bumpy as the person ran towards him, "I haven't seen you around here before."

Michael turned his head to see a lanky, pale boy with shiny blue eyes and curly ass brown hair. He had some acne on his face, and he was definitely a bit unproportionate, but that was fine. Michael was a bit taller than the boy he'd yet to know the name of, but it wasn't a huge, jaw-dropping difference.

"I'm Michael," the Filipino introduced, "who're you?"

"I'm Jeremy!" The brunette beamed.

"Nice to meet you, Jerem--"

"Are you from around here? I haven't seen you before."

"Yeah! I live right down the street."

"Did you just move there? Because I figure I'd remember someone who had such odd of clothing as you do."

Odd clothing? What Michael had on was fitting for the 90's. Why would it be weird?

"Uh. . ." Michael's voice trailed off, "I have to ask you, Jeremy. . . What year is it?"

"It's 1959."

Shit. He wasn't in 1996. He was in 1959. Michael's eyes widened. This wasn't good.
