I've gone through so much, for so long, I can see pain.
It dances through the air like multicoloured lights,
Touching everyone,
Everything,
Never relenting.
Because that is pain,
It doesn't stop.
So when I look into your fake smile and your crinkled eyes,
I can see the truth,
I see the pain.
Because where you are thenIs where I once was.
But you see, the pain isn't forever
It stops.
Whether it takes years or days,
The pain will leave you,
But it doesn't go away by will.
You see, pain is part of the human race,
It is us,
If we get rid of it,
We are not human.
Pain is holding our sanity in place,
As long as we feel pain,
We can continue living.
As soon as we grow accustomed to the pain,
Let it leave us,
We become nothing.
Our steps become shorter, our hearts weaker,
Our will fades and our voices die.
Because pain is us, we are pain.
If we stop feeling it, we are nothing,
Even if we don't want to feel it, even if it tears us down,
Even if it breaks us apart inside,
We need it. Denying it will get you nowhere.
So stop denying your pain, stop saying you're fine,
Stop hiding it behind a wall, because you'll break eventually,
If you let it out now if you let your tears fall now.
Know that
We are here to catch you.
