Why is it that no one cares about my happiness?

I literally walked on the schools campus not 5 minutes ago and everyone I know is making out with their partner .

The me 2 years ago would of cried but the current me is tired of it by now.

But as I turned the corner and my eyes landed on Joshua and melody it felt like a truck had hit me.

That obviously was still a fresh wound .

I enter my first class and sat in my assigned seat in the back of the class where I was safe.

Joshua and Melody walked in a minute or so later and sat down in the front row.

I felt a lump from in my throat as my eyes stung with fresh tears, why did I have to go through this?

I sighed and took out my notebook and pen and continued writing down notes.

I packed all my stuff up and walked into the cafeteria and immediately spotted my friends at our usual table.. making out.

Tracy was a white sophomore; just a year younger than us, she had brown hair and tan skin with hazel eyes. She was on top of her boyfriend Deondres lap.

Shandrea who was mixed with black and white is a  junior. She had mocha skin and long hair that were in tight curls, and dark brown eyes with succulent lips.

Hailey was Guatemalan junior. She had dark brown skin with a tint of orange and red, you would of guessed she was black if it wasn't for her accent or the fact that she cussed in Spanish sometimes. She had hazel eyes more so on the green side. Her boyfriend Max who was white just so happened to be with her today .

Trey was mixed and was black and Puerto Rican and a senior. He had short curly black hair that was always lined up and dark skin. He too had dark brown eyes like Shandrea and is also dating her.

And then there was wittle ole me ,

I had smooth light brown skin the color of milk chocolate. My brown hair that always looked tinted with red in the sun reached my mid back but today I just blow dried it so it looked like a puff . I had full pink lips and light brown eyes.

I took out the tuna fish sandwich my mom made and a bag of Hot Cheetos.

I began nibbling "So how are you guys today?"

They all looked up at me and cracked a smile but didn't say anything untill Tracy finally filled the silence.

"We're good today, we're going to Uncle Toms restaurant for Treys pre-graduation party."

I chewed then swallowed quite roughly might I add and then set my sandwich down.

"Really Uncle Toms restaurant for Treys pre-graduation party. I didn't even know you guys were planning something so big without me. What time should I arrive?"

Shandrea now spoke up " I'm sorry but we planned without you because we know you're single. We all planned to go together as a couple and just have fun. With you,you would of been the 7'th wheel. When and if you find a date you can come but I doubt you will."

When did shandrea become so bold to put me on the spot like that?

I nervously laugh" Why can't I just come like I always do ? We're best friends you guys come on".

Shandrea got up and soon so did Trey then everybody else .

" I'm sorry Janae but we've made up our minds don't take it to the  heart, things are just better without you".
