The two weeks that followed the incident were the funniest two weeks of Kyungsoos life. Sure he'd been mad, livid was more appropriate in the sense that, if he'd had a gun, he would've shot Jongin as well. It took Jongin a whole week to get back on his good side, jumping to do the dishes or any chore remotely close as soon as Kyungsoo walked in the room.
Kyungsoo almost couldn't stop his self laughing when he walked in the kitchen and Jongin scrambled to start scrubbing the counters looking at him like a kicked puppy, not paying attention and wound up almost setting the sponge on fire.
He felt almost guilty for what he was doing to the boy, for not telling him the bullet had merely grazed his chest and arm in some sort of freak way. Kyungsoo had been standing just right for the vest to bubble and the bullet to fly right underneath it. Nothing like that had ever happened before.
He didn't have the heart to tell Jongin that the scratch had healed by the end of the first week now he was just faking. I mean you'd think, as a mafia boss, he might realise 'hey you probably can't chase people and throw things if you got shot' or 'you normally don't come home the same night you've been shot'. Alas Jongin, fearing for the life of his husband (mostly his self) never even stopped to think about just how much Kyungsoo had been doing with the supposedly wounded arm.
The second week the chores were abandoned for grocery runs, craving fillers, and massages. Basically whatever Kyungsoo asked for Jongin gave wholeheartedly no matter how embarrassing it was. Three days ago Kyungsoo had paid a good friend of his -who was well aware of their situation but had never met Jongin- to hide in the park, asking Jongin to go around saying some stupid catch phrase. That day ended in the cops being called and Jongin bounding after 'Grandpa Wang' for five minutes as Kyungsoo and Jongdae cried from laughter at the car.
However all good things must come to an end because today was Kyungsoos first day back at work. He got up with his usual routine, dressing in a all black, suit with a white undershirt with Jongins help, being careful not to touch the prop gauze. Then grabbed his usual cup of coffee before turning to his husband. "Have a great day at work and try not to shoot anyone's husband" Kyungsoo teased, kissing Jongin before turning to leave. "I guess that means wives are fair game?" Kyungsoo just laughed.

Kyungsoos whole day was filled with reassurances that they would find the man that shot him and serve him justice. One after the other like robots, raising him for coming back and vowing revenge. Honestly he was about ready to scream by the time the day was done, pulling on his hair in annoyance because, even if he was teasing and annoying, Jongin was his husband. No one would touch him.
The car ride home was short and silent as Jinyoung simply stared out the window exhausted from the never ending raids he'd led in Kyungsoos absence.

Kyungsoo was greeted with an awfully unsettling sight as he closed the door behind him, setting his jacket on the rack and unclipping his gun and shield, setting then inside one of the drawers of the desk by the door.
Jongin was sitting in Kyungsoos favorite recliner, staring at him dressed from head to toe in gucci and swirling a small glass of liquid. He was eyeing Kyungsoo like a wolf to a deer waiting for him to run and Kyungsoo knew he'd fucked up something. This was the second side of Jongin, the one everyone else saw every second of the day, but the one Kyungsoo saw only when he was caught in a lie or had teased a little to much.
"How was you're wound doing today Soo? I was a bit worried about you going back to work so quickly" Jongin said, emphasizing wound. "It was good I guess I told you it would be fine" Kyungsoo knew better than to try and move to the kitchen or anywhere besides where he was. Atleast not until he could figure out how to calm Jongin down. "I bet it is doing good, exceptional even I'd expect nothing less of my little Soo. By the way the doctors office called today" Jongin said, raising an eyebrow. "Really what did they say?" "You had me running around town, almost arrested, hit by an old lady that carried bricks in her purse, and cleaning every inch of the house on a daily basis for a scratch. That's what they said" he deadpanned.
"What do you have to say for yourself" Jongin asked when Kyungsoo didn't answer. "Well someone had to do it" then he turned on his heel and ran out of Jongins reach.
This time the tables had turned. Jongin was the one chasing Kyungsoo around the couch jumping over it when he finally got tired of the game. Kyungsoo dashed into the kitchen slipping around the island and into the hallway. Jongin jumped the island, sliding across its marble face before tearing after the shorter man. Kyungsoo hoped the reach the bathroom that was just a door away and lock his self in until Jongin calmed down but he forgot about one thing.
Jongins legs were longer.
And he was much faster when he was angry.
