Being a maturing boy, Hinata was familiar with many cute girls. There was the shy Nanami, the ambitious Mioda, the anxious Tsumiki, the lovely Sonia, the intense Owari, the mysterious Pekoyama, the steadfast Koizumi, and the tiny Saionji. However, none of these girls really caught his interest as much as Kuzuryuu Natsumi did.
Natsumi was strong, and fearless, which was in contrast to Hinata's timid nature. She was often seen riding motorbikes and generally not caring about anyone or anything. No one really knew she was soft on the inside. She couldn't let anyone know.
Natsumi, her brother Fuyuhiko, and Pekoyama were a part of the Yakuza, a job in which it was dangerous to show even show a glimmer of weakness, and, because of this, they hid it away for no one to see.
Hinata knew this because Fuyuhiko was his best friend, whom he trusted. When he found out he was actually enamored with his best friend's sister, he began to worry what Fuyuhiko might do to him if he found out. Besides, what chance did he stand with a girl like her...
WHAM
Hinata, having been lost in thought while walking down the east building's upstairs hall, had tripped over someone and began to stumble a bit. He took a few sporadic steps before he regained his balance. He heard a voice come from the person behind him.
"Watch it, tall ass! Why I oughta... oh hey, it's just you! How's it going Hajime?" It was Fuyuhiko, of course. There was no way for Hinata to have avoided him, considering his height was a bit... less than average. Hinata turned around to greet him.
"Hey Fuyuhiko," he stumbled through his words a bit, readjusting to reality, "sorry about that, I was just a bit pensive."
"Pensive? What, do I look like some kinda nerd to you? What's that even mean?" He says, sarcastically, meaning no real malice toward his friend.
"It's like," he briefly thinks of a simpler way to put it, "being lost in your head."
"You're using your brain too much, you nerd." Upon hearing this, Hinata thinks to himself.
"There he goes calling me a nerd again, jeez."
"What were you thinking about anyways?" Kuzuryuu inquires, finishing his thought.
"Oh, it's nothing really..." He trails off his speech.
"Nothing? Now you got me curious. You better tell me, motherfucker!" He exclaims, stubbornly. Hinata knew it was useless to hold it off any longer, as Fuyuhiko would pester him until he told him.
"Fine, jeez, I was just thinking about how you have a sister, but I never got to actually meet her."
"You were thinking about my sister? What, you want a piece of her ass or something?"
"Yes. Exactly." Hajime thinks to himself, but he knew he couldn't say that. "No, no," he claims, as his cheeks redden, "It's just that you're my best friend and I felt like I should get to meet her."
"Fine, I'll arrange it, but lay a hand on her, and no one will find your body."
Gulp. "That's assuring," he reacted. "So where and when should this happen?"
"Well, I still need to see if she'll even go, but how about that fancy restaurant just 2 blocks away from the east gate, tomorrow at 8? I can get you two a reservation easily with my 'influence,'" he suggested.
"I'm confused, does he want this to be a date or not?" He thinks to himself, confused, but he doesn't want to pass on the chance to meet a girl like her, especially in such a setting. "Sounds good to me," he finally responds, "let me know what she says."
