No one saw the little pure white cow with beautiful violet eyes and an owl black as night standing on the cow's back but her that cold winter night. Ireland Angelica was looking out the kitchen window, holding a cup of hot chocolate when she saw the two strange things in the distance. It was hard to see because the wind made the snow scurry everywhere. "Ireland, come here honey." Brenda said softly. Ireland hurried over toward her mother. "Mommy there's a cow and an owl outside!" Ireland said excitedly. Brenda smiled down at her seven-year-old daughter wondering if she should believe her or not. "I think it's time for bed darlin." Brenda picked Ireland up and balanced the little girl on her hip, walking down the long hallway to her bedroom. "But mommy we have to go see them!" Ireland pleaded with her mother.
"No Ireland, it's nearly ten o' clock." Brenda said firmly but nicely. Brenda put a pouting Ireland into bed. "Now sleep tight, or Santa won't come." Brenda tucked Ireland into bed and turned off the light. The only light coming from hallway. Brenda kissed the top of her head gently. "I love you sweetpea, goodnight." Brenda walked out into the hall and turned back around to close the door gently. "I love you too mommy!" Ireland quickly said looking at her mother, Brenda smiled. "I love you more!" She gently shut the door and walked away leaving a wide awake Ireland.
Ireland turned over in bed to look out her window and there sat the black owl on her window ledge, staring straight at her with it's bright golden eyes! Ireland shot up in a sitting position staring back at the owl. The owl pecked on the window repeatedly as Ireland continued to stare and then pointed to herself. "Me?" Ireland mouthed. The owl nodded it's head at her. Ireland got up and her little feet lightly hit the ground.
Ireland quickly went to the window and slid it open without hesitation. The owl flew over her head making Ireland duck down to the floor. "Bonjour!" The owl said in a deep voice while landing on the bed. "Uh hi!" Ireland smiled. "Do you not know french mon amie?" The owl asked her. "No sir, but you can talk!" Ireland's blue eyes went wide with excitement. "Yes mon amie, I can" the owl looked down at the girl. "What is your name?" the owl asked her. "My name is Ireland! What is your name?" Ireland pointed with her finger. "My name is Paco the great!" Paco said puffing out his feathers and spreading his wings out to his sides, doing a dramatic pose.
"Oh Paco when will you stop being dramatic!" Ireland spun around so fast that her dark brown hair hit her face. The cow laughed softly at the little girl. "Be careful will you darling?" The cow asked but Ireland could only stand there amazed. "You're beautiful" Ireland said. "Why thank you sweetpea! My name is Dolly!" The cow said sweetly. "I'm Ireland!" she said. "My full name is Ireland Angelica!" Ireland added. "Such a beautiful name for a beautiful girl!" Dolly stuck her head through window. Ireland looked at Dolly's eyes and gasped. "Your eyes are violet!" Ireland smiled.
"Let's go on an adventure mon amie!" Paco insists. "We may not go on an adventure until Ireland gets dressed warmly!" Dolly fussed at Paco. Paco glared at Dolly but Dolly only rolled her big eyes at the owl. "Put a heavy jacket on darling." Dolly said in a motherly voice to Ireland who quickly scrambled to her closet. Ireland did as told and she even put a scarf around her neck. "Don't forget shoes mon amie!" Paco said. Ireland slipped on some heavy winter boots. "You're so cute!" Dolly said. "Let's get a move on!" Paco flew out the window. "But how do I get out?" Ireland question. "Climb out the window and hop on my back" Dolly insisted so that the little girl didn't have to walk in those big boots.
Ireland walked over to the window and tried to jump while clinging on to the wood on the window. "I can't" Ireland mumbled but then was surprised when she saw her feet being lifted off the ground. Ireland looked up and grinned. Paco had lifted her up by grabbing her jacket with his sharp claws. Paco was gentle though making sure not to rip the jacket or scratch the little girl. Paco went through the window and flew over Dolly with Ireland. "This is fun!" Ireland squealed not afraid. "Don't drop the child!" Dolly yelled. Paco hooted in response and went carefully back to Dolly. "Mon amie, this will be the time of your life!" Paco said while lowering Ireland down onto Dolly's back.
