I blink upon
The morning sun, yawning
With my mouth held wide. I stretch my
Arms and legs out far, opening my hands as if
To touch the warmth. Energy starts to course through
My veins, sliding from my toes to the top of my head. I lean
Over forward as the gentle breeze bathes me in it's embrace, but
Stand tall once more once it's gone. I look up at the blue, blue sky, smiling.
Morning turns to noon, and sun come out full force. The gentle breeze all
But disappears. Children play around me, stomping, running, laugh. One
All but looks at me, but then leaves to lay and nap. The light is getting way
Too hot, but it's very nice for them. My stomach's full, my arms outstretched.
All kids go home for supper, leaving me alone again. The sun is going down
Behind the mountains, taking the warmth away until the morning. I start
Bring in all my arms, clutching them into fists. I yawn again, and
Close my mouth. The day is done. It's time for rest. I can go
To sleep. My stomach's full. The light is gone. I can rest
I close my eyes.
