Chapter 62

Natalie's Pov

We're now on our way back to California and I have to say I'm really really excited for my upcoming baby shower. I tried to convince Xander into letting me at least plan some part of the event but of course he refused to let me do any sort of work what so ever because planning can be stressful. My stubborn King.

Once we landed Xander said there's a surprise waiting back home too and I couldn't help but giggle in excitement. We're now in the car on our way back to the mansion in the SUV but something is off because I've tried texting both Gabby and her parents to let them know we landed safe but neither have replied. I wonder what's wrong?

We soon pass through the gates at the front entrance and the first thing I notice was that Ana took amazing care of the front garden while we were gone. Xander gets out the car first before coming over to help me out as well as he wraps an arm snug around my waist. He sends his men to go inside and check the house before we enter. I don't know why Xander started doing this but he did a couple of months after we lived together. He's been pretty protective lately and especially since I've been pregnant.

When we know everything is secure, we make our way inside the door and I immediately stop in my tracks at the site infront of me. "SURPRISE!!!!!!" Everything one that I love is here, my best friend and her family, Xander's aunt and even a few of my coworkers from the diner. Danny is even here too!. There must be everything baby like here in site. From pink and blue balloons, car seats, stuffed animals, lovies, stacks among stacks of gifts boxes with beautiful bows and large gifts bags everywhere. There's even the cutest blue and pink baby bums and feet cake on the table!

Gabby and Danny both pull me into a tight embrace which I happily give back. "We told you were planning your baby shower Nina. You should've believed us when we said you weren't to worry about anything. Well that and the fact that Xander made us promise him we wouldn't let you do any work whatsoever. You've done a lot for me and my family and this is something we all just had to do for you especially since you're having a boy and a girl!".

Turning to Xander I don't miss the huge grin on his face. "You knew about this the whole time didn't you my king"? I whisper in his ear.

"Of course baby, I arranged it". He taps my butt making my cheeks heat up from the sexual gesture. "Come love, let's open our gifts". He leads me to the couch as I try to take a seat beside him but he had other plans seeing as he grabs my waist and pulled me onto his lap.

"You sure she's not too heavy for you to hold now?" Tyler questions jokingly before Regina flicks the back of his head making him scowl in response. "Of course not. She's already so petite as it is and even with two babies inside her she's still light weight".

"That's because you're big a-and tall and strong. I'm not strong". He kisses my cheek and my hand before holding it to his chest and whispering. "You're stronger than you think". I smile happily before giving him a quick kiss on the lips and turning to open up the first batch of gifts. We would've kissed longer but Danny started making gagging sounds which made us laugh so we decided to wait until later if you know what I mean.

Everyone bought the most expensive gifts they could find and I know they did that on purpose but of course I was grateful. There were so many cute baby clothes all over the place I couldn't wait to organize everything in the nursery. Mike and Regina bought so many onesies and baby shoes I lost count. Gabby bought all the baby toys from stuffies to Barbie dolls and action figures but I told her it would be a long time before the twins would be able to play with them. Danny and her family bought car seats, baby clothes and of course everyone bought diapers. Tyler bought a little stationary motorcycle for our baby boy to play on and a little princess carriage for our girl. I knew he would try to go all out for them.
