1:15 pm: "do you wanna get some coffee or frozen yogurt or whatever in a few? it's my treat considering your birthday is tomorrow."

1:34 pm: "???"

1:45 pm: "well let me know when you can

4:56 pm: "it seems as if you're busy, so ig text me when you're free. that coffee is still waiting for you. but um, yeah. i hope everything is okay. love you."

12:01 am: "hey bubba, i wanted to stay up until midnight to text you happy birthday (considering you're now officially the age of me, yay look at us aging like old ladies) but uh, is everything okay? i don't want to sound crazy or anything, i just wanna make sure you're fine. but please text me soon. until then, goodnight, happy birthday. i love you so much and i hope your day went well. goodnight, my love."

4:35 am: "lmao it's only 4 in the morning but i cannot sleep for the life of me. you still up?"

4:58 am: "bubsssssssss, wakeeeeee upppppppppppp!"

4:59 am: "i miss you and i crave your attention. plz love me."

5:00 am: "hello?"

5:01 am: "you dead or something?"

5:15 am: "okay i'm starting to worry, bubba what's going on?"

5:23 am: "ugh. okay well whatever, i'm going to try and sleep. goodnight. happy birthday."

12:54 pm: "hey"

1:04 pm: "okay, i'm going to call you cuz this is lowkey pissing me off."

i clicked on his contact name and dialed his number, which automatically went straight to some automated robotic lady.

"the number you have dialed is no longer a working number, for questions dial 1-(800)-555-1767"

i pressed the end call button and stared at the contact name on my phone, which simply caressed the screen in large fonts with the beautiful name of "david" with of course the utterly passionate rocket emoji, considering he was so called "out of this world" it was our thing.

i entered snapchat and typed in his name on my friends list, nothing appeared.

i entered instagram and typed in his name as well, which took me by surprise as i stared at the screen.
