Sunlight beamed through my window as my over energetic mother opened my dull coloured curtains.
How could she even be up this early?
I turned my body over and covered my head with a plump pillow, so the brightness didn't completely blind me.
"Wake up! Rise and shine!" she said in an annoyingly happy tone.
"Mum.. it's Saturday" I claimed in a raspy voice, still recovering from hay fever.
"Exactly! You could meet the love of your life today!"
Ugh.
Apparently everyday was an opportunity to meet a boy who's going to whisk me off of my feet and carry me to his valiant steed before we ride off into the sunset.
Blah blah blah
I decided to go back to sleep.
"Seriously Savannah, you need to get up" she sounded like she was starting to get annoyed.
My eyes adjusted to the brightness and slowly opened, before setting on the outline of my small mother, who seemed to be picking up my laundry off of the floor.
"Really? can you not take at least one piece of laundry downstairs? Your soulmate wouldn't like that" she tutted at my sleepy self, still wrapped up in the warm pink duvet.
I didn't take any notice of her, I was so tired, I swear I was still dreaming.
"Savannah." she glared at me.
If looks could kill.
She eventually left the room as I removed the warmth of the duvet from my body.
It was f*cking Saturday. I should still be in bed.
She made me get up every single day. She kept thinking that just because I was 18, I was going to meet the love of my life soon.
I looked at the brown writing on my wrist, noticing the seconds decrease. Yup. Still 5 years left until I meet the "love of my life".
I hope in 5 years time, my true love turns out to be pizza.
I walked across the wooden floor, retrieving my hairbrush so I could fix the blonde rats nest that seemed to be living on the top of my head.
Apparently my tangled up hair was one of my better features. But if thats true, I'd hate to see what my worst feature looks like.

After dressing in some ripped skinny jeans, a white vest, a knitted scarf, my brown army jacket and my brown boots, I made my way down the creaky stairs of the house to be greeted by my older brother.
"Good morning Savannah" his voice sounded way too posh, his blonde hair was plastered back by gel and the suit he was wearing made it so much worse.
"What the f*ck are you wearing that for?" I laughed and sighed as I walked past him and into the kitchen.
"I have a job interview today.. does it really look that bad?" I looked up to his puppy dog face and laughed a bit more.
"..nahhhhh" I waved him off and grabbed the house keys.
"Good luck though James!" I shouted just before shutting the front door.
I walked out to the driveway half asleep still, my head burned and I kept sniffing. But as soon as I stopped in my tracks and looked upwards, I was awake.
New York City.
Where dreams come true.. Yeah right.
Now people don't have the opportunity to fall in love over and over again. They can't realise that their true love is right under their nose. They can't search for true love anymore. I can't search for true love. It has to come to me.
