Honest truth and great pain

The day dragged on as boring as could be. We only learned about Shakespeare in English, the world war in history, the French Revolution in French, and just worked on the project in Geometry.
I was currently sitting in lunch with Olivia and Joseph, when a fight broke out at one of the tables. It was honestly really irritating. I just wanted to eat my disgusting lunch in peace. Then all of a sudden I saw food zoom pass my face. My head shit up as I looked in the direction it came from. Some big guy that looked angry for whatever reason. I looked in the direction he threw the food and saw a girl not far from Olivia plastered with smashed potato.
I looked over towards Dash, and then another piece of food flew past me. I got up and Olivia and Joseph followed. Then food started flying everywhere. I threw the food away and used the try as a shield. What the hell is going on?
"We should hide under the tables," Olivia thought out loud.
"Or we can just get out of here," Joseph stated.
"I like Joseph's idea, let's do that," I agreed as the three of us ran towards the door. When we finally got outside the door, I threw the try on the floor beside a locker. My friends followed my actions.
"What the hell was that about," Joseph said. Olivia and I shrugged. We still had about 15 minutes until class. We started walking until I heard a familiar voice call out my name. I turned around to see who it was. Low and behold, it was Dash. Joseph gave me the side eye, and Olivia stared at me excitedly.
"Hey," Dash said walking towards me. It was starting to become quite clear that him and Joseph didn't really get along. Dash had stared at him for a couple of seconds before continuing what he was saying.
"Can I come to your house...for the project," he asked, taking a few glances at Joseph.
"Sure," I said, giving him a small smile. We both heard a teacher yelling in the cafeteria.
"We should probably go before they think that we did something," I stated. He nodded, as all four of us started walking around the school. I took a glance at Joseph. He looked pissed. Like he would gladly throw a building into anyone at the moment. It was kind of scary, because I've never seen him like that. I heard him mumble something under his breath and Olivia elbow-punched him, giving him a glare. I ignored this and turned towards Dash.
"Did your parents ever tell you guys what they were talking about," I asked.
"No, but it was weird. Particularly on the fact that you seemed to know what was going on," he said, taking a quick glance at me.
"More of felt like I knew, but hey, I could be wrong," I stated, looking at me feet. I've been here for a couple of days, and I'm opening up to someone. This really isn't like me. It's weird.
"What do you think they were talking about," Dash said with a small smile.
"I don't know, my idea is kind of crazy," I tilted my head to the left. Yeah, crazy would be the perfect word right now, if not insanely fucked up.
"Any idea is good at this point. They were all looking at you," He said as he looked down at me. Goodness. I wish he didn't have eyes nor have to be taller then me. It was like he had some type of spell on me, and was annoying. I looked to my left to see that Olivia and Joseph were far behind us, seemingly arguing.
"Well, I feel like they were talking about my parents," I started, thinking of how not to say to much.
"How come," Dash said with wonder. Something sparked in his eye.
"They...did bad things...to my old city. Their criminals, is what I'm trying to get at, I guess. Their the reason I moved to metroville. I mean, I love it here, but worried," I ranted. Dash had a look of understanding. The bell had rang, and he was now walking me to my class, which the angry Joseph will be in soon.
"What did they do," Dash asked innocently. I opened my mouth, but then realized he didn't know anything about my past that I didn't want to bring up. Especially since it was remotely recent.
"Um..." I started off, looking at the ground.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," Dash said. Curiosity sparked his eye. He seemed like he really wanted to know, but I couldn't tell him I had powers. Hell, I wasn't sure if he had any. We walked in a comfortable silence until we got to the theatre room. I felt Joseph staring us down when we got there.
"I'll see you later," I told him, with a genuine smile.
"You to," he smiled back. He went to his class, when I noticed Joseph. He still looked really pissed.
"You okay," I asked, really concerned.
"I just don't trust him," Joseph said, "let me know if he hurts you."
"I doubt that'll happen anytime soon," I sighed. If it was possible to get even angrier, I think he did. He walked passed me, slightly pushing me along the way. What problem did he have with Dash? I pushed the question out of my mind. I walked in to the tech area and started working on what I was supposed to do. Occasionally I would catch Joseph staring at me, in a Sorry manner.
After I finished my work, I watched the other students rehearsing for an upcoming play.

I had just got finished putting my volleyball uniform on and I started walking towards the gym. On my way out, Trinity stopped me. She looked at me up and down for a second.
"What does Dash even see in you," She asked rudely.
"I don't know, and I don't care," I say as I walked passed her.
"Well, you should," she stated following me. Great, I have another Olivia to deal with.
"And why's that," I hummed as I put my stuff down on the bleachers.
"Because, he's popular and your not," Trinity said in her usual snobby tone. Maybe not so much another Olivia, but a close second.
"...So..." I said, honestly not caring if he was.
"And you'll ruin his reputation," She nearly yelled.
"Gee, okay, thanks for the heads up," I said sarcastically. I asked before, so I'll ask again. Does. She. Ever. Chill? It's obvious I don't care if he's popular or not, but even if I did, he started talking to me.
"He deserves me, if anything," Trinity said strutting away. I swear, popular girls are way overrated. I rolled my eyes as I walked on the court and we did our warm up. While doing it, I could've sworn I saw a flash of light outside the door to the hall.
We started practicing for an upcoming tournament, but I started feeling sick. I didn't know why, because I hardly even ate. I started to get a little lightheaded, like yesterday, and my body started aching. When we took a break, I went to the coach.
"I know we have to practice, but can I go to the nurse," I asked, hand on my head.
"How come," She responded, looking at me.
"I feel dizzy," I stated. I wasn't sure if your body aching was a valid excuse, but I left that part out.
"Do you think you'll last till the end of the period," she asked with little concern in her voice. Yknow, for being excited my first day, she doesn't seem so preppy now. I shrugged, because I honestly didn't know if I could.
"See if you can last the next fifteen minutes, and if you can't you can go to the nurse," she stated.
"Okay," I mumbled as everyone walked back on the court. I really couldn't think straight. Why was this happening to me. I looked out the window to the tracks and saw Dash. He was coming inside, probably to go to the restroom. But for all I know I could be daydreaming. I brought my attention back to the ball. I looked just in time because it was coming for me. I hit the ball over the net, as Dash walked in. I started getting dizzier. I think Dash must've noticed, because he stood there watching me for a bit. He then walked to the coach and I saw him pointing at me. I saw that she had sighed and wrote something on a price of paper. Dash started towards me, and I saw Trinity snarling at me.
"Hey, come on, I'm taking you to the nurse. You don't look to good," Dash whispered to me, pulling me aside. I nodded a little and we both walked to get the pass. I was slightly confused. Why was he going about his way to do this?
"I saw you through the window. You didn't look to well," Dash stated, looking ahead. He was gripping my wrist for support and moving at a slow pace.
"But aren't you gonna get in trouble," I asked, barely above a whisper.
"Yeah, but you really don't look okay. Plus, I need to talk to you," Dash side glancing at me. This was one of the first times I've seen him serious over something.
"About what," I whispered. I realized the reason he kept talking was to keep my mind focused so I wouldn't pass out. His grip slowly went around my waist.
"Last night," Dash started, seemingly worried, "I had a dream. It was of you. You were in a place, a school I'm guessing, and it was on fire. There were two adults and one of them struck the You with light. You got a scare on your stomach. I don't know what happened after that. I'm still gonna come to your house, to make sure you're okay. But, can you explain that dream to me? It seemed to real to be a coincidence."
I was a little more aware at this point, shook. It was weird, because that's exactly what happened. I looked at him, contemplating whether I should tell him or not.
"What did the lady look like," I asked, again, barely above whisper.
"She had...dyed hair, I think. It was short. The color of light blue. She had your color eyes, and she was thin. She was really pale though, and she had dimples," He described the lady. It's weird, because he described my mom. How? Why did he have a dream about my mom. All of a sudden the halls got brighter, my head started hurting worse, and I was getting weaker. Dash noticed because he picked me up bridal style. He looked worried.
"Try and stay with me, okay," he said. I nodded. His voice was starting to get foggy. My vision was starting getting blurry.
"The lady...she was my mom," I whispered. I was really weak. I was barely awake. His eyebrows pinched together. He looked down a little.
"Your moms a super..." Dash looked a bit taken back. I nodded.
"My dad...is to. I-I have powers...I don't know how t-to use them. D-darkness manipulation...I guess you would say. C-can you promise not...tell...anyone," I let out. I was able to see him nod, and I heard him say something.
"W-what," I mumbled. It was starting to go dark once we made it to the nurse.
