"I can't believe she would do that," Ashanti said as we walked into Jordan's house.

"I know and the thing is, August came to my house after that apologizing and shit. Then he said the reason they broke up was because of me," I said taking a breathe.

"Girl that's some shit," Ashanti said.

"Yeah but know ya know that he clearly wants you," Jordan said combing his curly Afro.

"What the hell are you talking about?"  I asked setting my purse on his bed.

"Girl him and his girl broke up because of a bad bitch like you. So he has to have feelings for you or he would be trying to win Kali back," he said.

"I don't know. He could just not like Kali," Ashanti shrugged.

"I mean who wouldn't. She nothing but a spoiled bitch." I said.

"Didn't you say she was working in the diner," Ashanti raised her brow.

I nodded.

"Mmm daddy must not be giving her money," Jordan chuckled.

"Oh yeah I didn't even noticed that. Why would she be working in a diner if she is so "rich." I said.

Ashanti shrugged it off.

"Nahh man when you gone drop this shit. It's fye," Chris said listening to one of my tracks.

"I will soon, just give me a minute." I smiled rubbing my hands together.

"You still fuck with Kali?" Chris raised his brow.

"Hell nah mann. She crazy as fuck." I shook my head.

Chris busted out laughing, but I was dead serious. Kali would get mad over the simple and smallest things.

"That how most of the fine girls are," he said.

"She was cute and all, but she won't fine," I said.

"Kali? Are we talking about the same person," he said showing me one of her Instagram pics.

I shrugged as he moved the phone.

"Looks don't matter if you ain't got that good personality to go with it," I said.

It was some true shit. I don't care how fine you are. If you can't be loving, sweet, now how to handle you shit, and be goofy at times then I don't want you. Kali is nothing but a stuck up girl.

"True True," he nodded.

"Yeah but ima go. I'm tired as shit gonna head on back ta da crib," I said doing me an Chris's handshake.

"Aight bro," he said as I walked out the door.

I pulled up to the crib to see Kali's car parked in my drive way. What the fuck. A nigga can't get a break.

I got out the car as soon as she got out hers.

"Hey Aug. Can we talk?" She pouted.

"For what?"

"Please it's important," she sighed.

"You got 15 minutes," I said letting her into the house.

I closed the door behind us as she sat down on the sofa. I sat beside her and leaned of the end.

"Talk" I said.

"Look August, my daddy is gonna cut me off if he knows you and me broke up," she sighed.

"You still haven't told him?" I asked.

"No, that's why I've been working at the diner down the street I've been trying to get money on my own, but it's hard when someone else has been taking care of you your whole life," she said.

"Well I don't know what to tell you love. Dats life," I shrugged.

"We are having a dinner tomorrow night. He wants you to be there." She said.

"No"

"August please just one dinner and it's only for like an hour. You know how much my daddy likes you," she smiled.

I chuckled. "Will you leave me alone after dat?"

"Yes. Thank you," she smiled giving me a hug.

"Yeah, Whatever," I said as she walked out the door.

"Hey mama," I smiled walking to the kitchen.

"Hey Indy, and hi Shanti," my mother said as we walked into the kitchen.

"Heard you was cooking so I had to show up," Ashanti said sitting at the kitchen table.

My mama shook her head and laughed. Ashanti was like my moms second daughter. She was always around after school. Just like August was with Shaun.

"Yeah, some spaghetti and garlic bread," my mom said.

"Mmm, I can't wait," Shanti said walking into the living room.

"Shaun here?"

"I don't know go upstairs and check," she said.

I went upstairs and knocked on his door.

"Come in."

I opened the door and the smell of weed hit my nose heavy. I closed the door behind me and plopped down on his bed.

"The hell you doing?" I asked watching him play Fortnite.

"Nun gettin high. You want some?" He asked passing me the blunt.

I took a couple hits of it and handed it back.

"I can't mess with you playing that lame ass game," I said pushing him over.

"Mann Fortnite ain't lame it's fun if ya know how to play it," he said.

"Whatever," I said walking out the room and shutting the door behind me.

I walked in the living room to see Ashanti watching tv. I sat beside her and laid my head on her shoulder.

"Girl you been smoking?" She asked looking at my eyes.

" a little," I said.

She giggled and focused on the tv.
