We hurried down quietly to the noise. The room looked like their main room, with a long table and many chairs. There was a stage with a podium, and behind it, we saw Kaylee tied up. The shadow figure – there they were. It was bright in the main room, and all you could see was shadow. I don’t know how that’s possible, but it was freaking me out.
“What are you going to do with me?” Kaylee shouted.
“That, I’m not sure of. That’s for them to decide,” The shadow pointed to the rest of the Roses. “Any… ideas?”
“I have one,” one of the Roses said. “We could throw her on an abandoned island and leave her there.”
“I like it, but… I want something… more extreme.”
“We could have her go on a mass murder spree at her friend’s house. Then have her join us.” another one said.
“Perfect. Wait… no… more! I want more ideas!”
“Kill her,” The final one said. “Make The Broken suffer. Kill her.”
“Really? That’s what you want…? Alright then…” The shadow figure proceeded to load a handgun.
“We need to stop him from firing that gun,” Oliver said. He quickly thought of an idea. “There’s about fifteen of them, so one of us can quietly sneak over to the stage door on the left and make a distraction onstage.”
“I’ll do it.” John said. He walked over to the stage door, and very quietly opened it, then closed it. Nobody heard. The shadow figure finished loading the gun and began talking.
“Before I proceed, do you have any last words, Kaylee?”Kaylee was silent and looked at the ground. “Just kill me… they’re not coming to save me anytime soon.” She said and closed her eyes.
“Very well.” The figure cocked the gun and pointed it at Kaylee. Just then, there was an extremely loud bang backstage. John did it.
“What the hell was that?” the Roses got up and looked backstage. We hurried over to Kaylee.
“Elise… you came!” she said, quietly.
“Of course we did,” I untied her and hugged her. “Can you walk?”
“No… they broke both of my legs.” Ray, being as strong as he already is, carried Kaylee.
“Let’s go.” He said. Just then, the shadow figure appeared out of nowhere and stopped us.
“No. Don’t take her. Put her down!” they demanded. John came out the stage door.
“Well, isn’t this amazing…” he said. The shadow grabbed their gun.
“No, no, no! Don’t shoot!” Ray screamed. We started running. He fired, but missed. “Everyone, head for the car! We aren’t leaving anybody behind!” We were running fast, but the shadow wasn’t. He got two Roses to help him out while the rest stayed. We were at the door, but just then, it froze shut.
“What…!” I said. It wasn’t even cold outside… could the shadow have done that? He had us right where he needed us.
“Now…” he pointed the gun at Kaylee.
“DON’T!” I screamed. I jumped in front of the shadow, trying to take the bullet for a friend, but then he disappeared and went behind me. A Rose hit me hard, knocking me to the ground. I was starting to black out. I tried to resist.
“No!” I heard Kaylee. Just then, it was silent. I couldn’t get up for about five minutes. I rubbed my eyes, standing up. When I looked on the floor, I couldn’t believe my eyes.
Kaylee died.
