Cassidy's POV

*BEEP! BEEP!* I looked at the clock; it was 7:00 a.m. I turned off my alarm and got out of bed. "Ugh, the first day of high school." I groaned. I cleaned my face and went to the kitchen. “Good morning sweetie.” My mom said to me while I sat down at the dining table. “Yeah, what’s so good about it?” I said being so cranky. “Whoa, someone slept on the wrong side of the bed today,” said Mom. “Sorry, it’s just that it’s the first day of high school..” I said, not finishing my sentence. I took some toast and started chewing it. I took a sip of the glass of orange juice that was on the table. “What’s so bad about that?” Mom said. I took one more bite out of my toast. “Well, let me think: boys and another lonely year because I’m a new student.” I said finishing my bread. “It won’t be so bad, just because of him... now get dress, the bus will be here soon,” said Mom. “Thanks for reminding me, mom.” I said to her.

I took a shower after breakfast. After my shower, I got dressed, fixed my hair and brushed my teeth. I put all my schoolbooks in my knapsack. It was 7:45 so I went to the bus stop to catch the bus. “Bye honey, have a good first day!” Mom said while waving at me. “Okay, bye!” I said looking at my mom. I sat at the back of the bus.

As I walked into the school, there was a girl looking at me while I was looking for my locker. She walked up to me. “Looking for 2146?” She asked me. “Yeah, do you know where that is?” I asked. “Uh, I think your locker's beside mine. Come, I’ll show you where that is.” She said politely. “Oh, thanks.” I said. While I followed her, her dark brown wavy hair kept swishing around every time she took another step. She was wearing white ripped jeans and a black American Apparel hoodie. “Well, here it is. I’m Danielle by the way, but you can call me Dani or Elle.” She said to me. “Oh, thanks Dani. I’m Cassidy, I’m new here.” I said while putting my books into the locker. “I know that, I know everyone in this school,” said Dani. “You know everyone? Wow, you must be some popular girl in Jefferson High.” I said. “Um, not really.” She said smiling. “Well what did you do to get into Jefferson?” She asked me. “I uh, sing. How about you?” I asked. “I act, I like to sing also. But I’m not very good,” She said. “I want to hear you sing sometime.” She said.

I looked at my watch, it was 8:00 a.m. The bell rang. “I got to go. I have Homeroom for 1st period.” I said to Dani. “Hey, me too! I’ll show you where it is.” She said grabbing my arm. As we walked into class, I noticed a guy smiling at me. He was wearing a white v-neck and denim jeans with converse. He had dark brown curly hair and green eyes. “That's Harry, everybody thinks he’s cute.” Dani whispered to me. “Everybody, why?” I asked acting surprised.

I saw an empty seat next to him; I was going to sit there until I saw some other girl sit next to him. She kissed him on the cheek; I was guessing that that was Harry’s girlfriend. I could hear them talking but I didn’t want to make it obvious that I was listening. I was sitting in the chair that was one row behind. Dani was sitting next to me. I wanted to know what they were talking about so I listened closely. “We need to talk about things Chelsea.” He said to her. “About what? Don’t tell me you’re breaking up with me again.” Chelsea said. Again? I thought to myself. I think she was about to cry. “Well….yeah, I’m sorry to be doing this to you, I just can’t take it anymore. You are too high maintenance. And I still remember that you were kissing another guy.” Harry said. “Harry! Please don’t do this to me, I’ll change for you.” She said, she was begging on her knees for him. Everyone in the class was looking at her and Harry. “Chelsea, I’ve given you too many chances, move on, like I have. We’re over; find someone else to cheat on.” Harry said. A bunch of "Ouuu'ing" went on after.

After class was over, it was 9:30 so Dani and I went to Music class. Harry was in that class too. He was smiling at me again. Oh gosh. I thought. I was looking for an empty seat. The only seat was beside Harry. So I sat beside him. “Hi, I’m Harry. I’m guessing your name is Anna? It’s Spanish for pretty.” He said trying to be charming. Omg, he had a British accent, how cute. He reminded me of Harry Styles from the band One Direction.. “Uh, its not Anna, its Linda.” I said correcting him. I started to laugh. "Oh, that backfired.. so then what is your name? He asked, looking a little embarrassed. “Cassidy, Cassidy Collins. Oh and thanks, but flirting with me will get you nowhere. Plus, I’m not pretty, those girls are.” I said while looking at Chelsea and her friends. “What do you mean? I just like making people smile. And those girls? Nah, they may be pretty. But I bet you they’re not pretty in the inside. I like a girl with a beautiful smile, kind of like you.” Harry said while smiling at me. “Seriously, enough with the flirting... and don’t you mean just new girls that you see?” I said. Harry then winked at me. A minute later, the music teacher walked in. "Class, today we have a new student. Her name is Carter Collings. Make her feel welcome." The teacher announced. "Sir, its Cassidy, Carter's my middle name. Also its not Collings, its Collins." I said, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Sorry about that dear, by the way, I'm Mr. Miller. Class, let's all say hi to Cassidy." Mr. Miller said. "HI CASSIDY." The class said sounding bored and tired. "Well then why don't we get started.." Mr. M said walking over to the piano bench and spreading out his music sheets on the stand for the piano.
