Chapter 2 : Mission

At Fairy Tail ~

"When will they ever grow up..." Lucy mumbled, sipping her all time favourite drink, strawberry milkshake while looking at Natsu and Gray who are fighting each other again. It was another typical day in Fairy Tail. She was sitting at the bar counter that was part of the guild hall.

"Not anytime soon, that's for sure." Mira giggled, cleaning up the mess that her fellow guild members had made. Lucy snickered at the remark, shaking her head softly.

"But then, if they were to grow up, Fairy Tail wouldn't be Fairy Tail anymore." the barmaid spoke with fondness in her voice. Lucy stop stirring her milkshake and look up at the Take-Over mage with a confuse look which only lasted for a few seconds before replacing it with a soft smile.

"You're right. Even if they're annoying, they're still the my friends who I love and this is the Fairy Tail that I know and love." her lips widened into a huge grin as she turn and look at her two bestfriend who played important roles in her life. But that moment was ruin by a certain furball.

"Lushee!!!" Happy flew towards her at full speed, knocking her over. When she got up, she had a dark aura that was radiating off her as she slowly stood up, growling Happy's name.

"Happy..." the Celestial mage growl ever so softly but was loud enough for the blue exceed to hear. 

"Gomenasai Lucy." Happy apologize fearfully, evidently shaking while starring at the blonde mage who slowly turned around making him shake even more than before. Lucy glared at Happy with an evil glint in her eyes.

"What did you say, flamebrain?!" Gray yelled, glaring at Natsu who was gladly returning the favour. 

"You heard me, ice-princess." Natsu growled, pushing Gray. 

"Are you asking for a fight?!" Gray pushed back, challenging Natus. 

"I'll beat you anytime." Natsu mocked. 

"Oh yeah? Bring it on you fire idiot!" Gray screamed, lunging for Natsu. With fire in both hands, Natsu went charging towards Gray as well. Soon, a brawl had started. Chairs, tables, barrels, anything you can think off were sent flying to every part of the guild hall. The only ones who didn't join were the females who are currently finding a safe places to hide. 

"Gray, your clothes." Lucy said, finishing up the last of her drink. 

"Huh?" Gray looked down and finally realized that he was only in his underwaer. 

"Wear did it go? I swear I had them on this whole tim- NATSU DRAGNEEL!!!" he roar when he saw Natsu holding up his underwear up in the air, waving it as if it was a flag. 

"Heehee, not so cool now eh, ice popsical." Natsu taunted as he dodge all of Gray's hits. Lucy stood up and stood in front of the request board, scanning each and every request to see which one was the most suitable job. 

"Hmm..., which job should I pick..." Lucy mumbled to herself, rubbing her chin. "Theater performance?" she thought back to the time where it turns out that they had to perform one whole without any rest and three times per day. She shudder at the thought and moved onto the other request. Skimming the board one more time, she still found none that had caught her interest. It was either too tiring or the pay isn't god enough. Planting herself back an the bar counter with a sigh that managed to slip past her lips. 

"What's wrong?" Mira look at Lucy with concern written all over her pretty face.

"Nothing, it's just that there hasn't been any job for me." she supported her head with her palm. Seeing how the blonde mage was bored, Mira let out a small giggled that went unnoticed by Lucy as she was starring at Natsu, who was having an eating contest with Gray.

"Than this might be the job for you." the barmaid, place a piece of paper in-front of Lucy. Tearing her gaze away from the two, she read the request. 

A beast on rampage, destroying towns and anything that is blocking its' way. It comes down during the day and returns to the mountain when night falls. More than half of our town is already destroyed. Please send your strongest mage to help us. 

Reward : 2,000,000 jewel

"But Mira-san, they asked for the strongest mage... I'm not even strong to start with." Lucy look away with a sadened face.

"Don't look down on yourself, everyone is strong in their own way." Mira tilted Lucy's face towards her, giving her a sweet smile.

"Yeah Luce, you're the strongest Celestial wizard I ever known." Natsu stood behind her with his thumbs up and his signature grin. 

"So what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Natsu grabbed Lucy's hand and ran out of the guild along with Happy.

"Aye sir!" Happy flew right above them with Erza and Gray both hot on their trails. Lucy felt the sides of her lips tugged up into a big smile and a hearty chuckle was heard.
