" If I could live forever then, I don't know what I'd do forgot just what I meant to say but-" I grabbed my phone and switched off my alarm.

Ugh, Monday.

I hate Mondays, sue me!

I jumped in the shower and hummed along to 5 Seconds of summer. Drying my body, I checked my phone for any USEFUL whatsapps. My classmates can say the stupidest things you can think of.

Scrolling...

Scrolling...

Scrolling... Finally! Hema whatsapped to '2 skool 4 kool', that was a group that I created for the 6 ( Me, Karthi, Hema, Arun, Sanjana and Aadithya) to share whatever nonsense we had.

But Hema wanted to know if we were going out on Wednesday.

"I'll have 2 check with meh parents, but i think i can" Aadithya replied.

"Me 2" Sanjana typed.

"Ya i think wed is ok with me"

" where r we even gng?" I typed, confused.

" ur house" Karthi replied, directed to me.

"No way" I replied, knowing my friends were the messiest people ever.

"Y not? PLEAAAASSSEEE!!!!!!!!!" Aadithya typed.

"Even if i agree u guys have to clean up after" i typed back.

"Deal" Arun typed.

"Done" Sanjana replied.

"Prepare urself gurl" silly Aadithya...

"Dayanita u sure abt this?" Karthi asked.

He was referring to my 'absence of parents'.

"Ya i think this'll be fun :)"

"K then" he typed.

"YAYAYAYAYAYAYAAYAYYAYAYAAYYAY WE'RE GOING TO DAYANITA'S HOUSE!!!!" Hema replied.

" y u so hyper?!" I typed.

"Not everyone is so negative abt mondays ya know" Arun replied.

"Y u defending her? ;p" Aadithya typed.

"Ooohhh!!!" Karthi replied.

"C ya guys @ sch" i typed and got ready.

Uniform, check. Bag, check. Headphones, check. Granola bar, check.

Time for school! (Yeah i get excited about school don't judge me)

I stepped out of my house to see Karthi sitting on his steps.

"Morning Karthi!" I said. His name brought a smile to my face.

"Today's special isn't it?" He said.

"Oh yeah!!" I slapped my forehead. "12 years man!" I said.

It had been exactly 12 years since I moved in next to Karthi.

Aahh memories.

"We've really come a long way, huh?" I asked.

"Definitely" he said and shot me one of those heart-melting smiles.

OBSESSION!!!

Snap out of it.

The voice in my head snapped me back to reality.

"So should we do anything special tonight?" I asked.

"Umm... Subway? On me. Just like old times when the 8 of us used to go out on Sundays... but this time, it'll just be the 2 of us," he replied.

I grimaced a little when he brought back that memory.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought that up, should I?" He apologised, noticing my reaction.

"No, it's alright. It's going to be fun tonight," I said, trying to push the memory.

"Sorry" he said again.

I gave him a smile and we walked to the MRT station.

Once we boarded the train, I plugged in my headphones. He did the same and we stayed silent for most of the journey.

As we alighted, I checked my phone.

9.45!!

"We were supposed to meet the guys at 9.30. Come on!" I said and tried to pull Karthi to school.

I may be strong but he was stronger. It was like he was resisting me.(okay that sounded a bit weird) We rushed into the parade square to see Arun, Hema, Sanjana and Aadithya standing impatiently.

"Sorry" I said.

Just as Hema opened her mouth to speak, I felt a cool drop of water land on my forearm.

The rest of them must have felt something too because we all looked up at the same time.

There were ominous clouds looming the sky which I hadn't noticed before.

"There will be no assembly this morning. All students are to report to their respective classrooms" A teacher spoke.

"Yay!" I heard a few people say.

The 6 of us headed to our first lecture before we got drenched.
