If you really do like Oberon, hit me up.••••••••••••••••
A gentle beam of sun floods your body, wrapped in thin, white cloth. Your mind slowly awakens, the warmness keeps you drowsy. The pleasant feeling lasts for a bit longer, then dissipates as you notice a golden band around your wrist. A bit shocked, you look up and around. You're laying on a cushy bed in an uncomfortably large birdcage... Like a pet...
Your legs fall over the side of the bed, and golden bands are around them as well. Although not attached to any chains, they are definitely shackles. Finely crafted shackles. They are stunning, with minuscule emeralds poking out from every rounded edge. They clatter a bit as you stand up and do a small stretch, reaching towards the clear sky. You notice that the cage you have been placed in is sitting on a tree branch, and become slightly panicked. Everything seems calm now, but considering the signs, something bad will probably happen.
Staying alert, you search for a way out. There is a door, of course, but it is very obviously being protected by a key code. You check all the drawers, under the bed, reach outside of the cage and look behind all the furniture, but there is absolutely nothing to help.
Virtual reality, you note, is now horrifying to you. Looking in a mirror and seeing two delicate wings puts your mind back into full reality mode. You purchased Alfheim Online, started playing it but then there was some sort of error, and...
From reading reviews online, you gather that this could not possibly be normal, right? It could be an error screen still, like a default place to spawn if the program was confused, but this would be an odd setting. Your menu is no help. At all. No items, no friends, and barely any information. The only things you have are your clothes, which are basically white pieces of fabric draped in a way that looks like dress. If this were real life, they'd definitely have fallen off by now.
A noise breaks you from thought. There is someone at the base of the branch. They are leisurely waltzing towards the door, and all you can really see is green. Curious but frightened, you stand tall close to the door and await the person's arrival. It takes a few minutes, but a fairy king invades your vision. He is so painfully a king. His overwhelmingly long, yellow hair floats in the sliver of a breeze, and he pauses to behold you as well.
"Why hello there. You look like a trembling mouse in there. There is really no need to be afraid. I love you more than anything else, so you will not be hurt. I promise."
You remain silent, unsure of how to respond to such odd statements. There is something off about him... This man... He is clearly not an NPC... But you don't have much time to wonder as he speaks again.
"I have picked you from the rest because you contain something... Something I can't get to. It is very intriguing. I can't tell if it's a secret desire or something of a dark past, but I am driven to find what it is. Of course, I have also picked you for your beauty and your capable mind. I dearly hope you will open up to me."
"Ah..." You utter, half-focused on his words and half-focused on escaping. If only he'd open the door...
"Oh, my dear, if you are good, you can come view the rest of my palace. I would love to have a queen as fair as you. In fact, you really have no choice, so I suggest agreeing to marry me right now. If you'd like a proper proposal, I can arrange it. But you must be good to me, okay?"
"Okay." You reply, stupidly. It is a standard response and you couldn't help yourself. There's no way you're dedicating your life to a man who wears dresses and puts people in cages.
"Oh... I just... I must touch you... I'm coming in..." His posture changes; His back arches forward slightly, his arms stay bent upward, and he seems easily distracted by the clouds and shiny bars of the cage. It's concerning how his pace is different, smaller strides and faster steps.
He invites you to sit on the bed next to him, and you wonder what exactly he plans to do...
