Today's Saturday. The party day. I woke up a little late, at 8:30. I went to the washroom and took a long relaxing bath.
Good thing my roommate wasn't here. She went to visit her family. 'Family' the word holds so much emotions I can't even describe. The only thing I craved for over years. Family.
Anyway's I texted Kate "Yo, let's meet up". "Sure. Where?" she texted back. "How about 'Pinecake'? I texted. "Sure I'll be there in 30 minutes " she texted. I went my wardrobe. I took a green pale tee and a loose jean. With that I headed towards the cafè.
*** I was sitting there, waiting for Kate. If guys are thinking she's late then you're wrong. She isn't late. Well I'm 15 minutes early.
I was staring at the road through the glass wall. The road wasn't as busy as the usual because it's a weekend. It's drizzling outside. The weather outside is cold. That's when I saw a happy Kate walking towards me.
"Hey, Al. Have you ordered? " she said. "Nah! I was waiting for you. Let's order now" I said. The waiter came to take our orders.
The waiter was tall. He had pale skin, cute dimples. He was quite handsome. He was overly good to us. Especially to Kate. We ordered a pancake and a chicken sandwich with two lattes'.
He came back with our orders. I saw his nameplate and saw Jake. I assumed his name. Kate said" Thank you, Jake" and Jake grinned at her showing his dimples and said " It's nothing. It's my job beautiful" with that Kate blushed.
Being the third wheel I decided to keep my shut. He left as he served our food. I decided to break the silence because it was getting awfully awkward. "So what was that" I said wiggling my eyebrows. She said " What was what?" she said pretending not knowing anything.
"Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. So do you like him" I said. "Yeah! I mean he is cute" she said. Being the cupid I said "When he comes to give our bill why don't you guys exchange your numbers. Then you can meet up later sometimes" I suggested.
"What if he thinks I'm too forward and what if he doesn't like me?" she said hesitantly. "Duh, what the Hell? Where is this coming from? You and insecure and nervous about a guy! Dude that's first and don't worry it was clear that he is interested in you haven't you seen the way he was looking at you. Please he was probably drooling over you" I said and a blush creeped over her cheeks. "Oh please I'm not insecure or nervous. I'm just telling and if you think so I'll give my number" she said. "Let's eat before it gets cold" I said. "Al, we're getting ready at yours. So I'll be there at 5 because the party is at 7." she said. "Oh, okay" I said.
Suddenly Jake came to give our bills. He was smiling at Kate. He asked her number before she got the chance. They exchanged numbers and we headed out. Kate dropped me and went to her home.
*** It was 4pm. I decided to take a long shower. After taking shower I dried my hair that's when Kate came. "Come on babe let's get you dolled up" she said and jumped over me.
She was doing God knows what. "Yo Kate, slow down. I don't wanna caked up in makeup. So do something simple" I said and she nodded. She picked up a eye liner and paint my eyes. Making my silver eyes detailed. She took a light lipstick trying to make my look simple. My hair is straightened. I chose a flat shoe and a nude small hand bag.

Her brown chocolate hair was curled up. She did her makeup. She was looking stunning. We finished getting ready at 6:45. "Al let's head out. Otherwise we are gonna be late" she said. I nodded. With that we head out.
I couldn't figure it out but I was feeling a bit uneasy. The strange feeling in my stomach that I couldn't figure out. It was like something bad is gonna happen. But I can't say no to Kate now. She is very excited about the whole party thing. If I say something now she is gonna get upset. As the car is going I'm getting a bad vibe and it is too late to blackout. Let's just hope everything goes smoothly.
