Let's just say I was not born in a normal, everyday family. Instead of having thirty or forty people alive in my family, I have over two thousand. Instead of going to a normal everyday high school, we go to a school made for said family. Pack life is all I have ever known. Being the only heir to the alpha throne, I have never been outside of pack boarders. It is forbidden until I complete the change.

Every wolf changes at the age of fourteen and alphas usually at thirteen. For some reason, at the age of sixteen, I am still unable to change. The only thing that changed on my thirteenth birthday was the color of my eyes that changed from a bright green to a vibrant purple. Nothing like this has happened before. It is unheard of and no one understands it.

I am what you would call a freak. It is the name I have grown to accept, even though they would never say it to my face. Disrespecting an alpha or his family is immediate imprisonment. That is the only thing saving me from the humiliation of confrontation.

"Ray. Ray Ray. Reagan!" My friend Vincent yells.

"Yes? Wha? What's going on?" I ask confused.

"You were day dreaming again."

"I'm sorry. I was just thinking about when I became a fre-" I didn't get to finish my sentence before a hand covers my mouth.

Vincent looks me dead in my eyes while whispering, " You are not a freak. Do not let them treat you this way."

"It's true though." I try to say but it was muffled by his hand.

"Ray, tomorrow it your seventeenth birthday. Tomorrow is the day you will change. I can feel it. I don't know why or how but I know something life changing is going to happen tomorrow. Reagan, you are bound to be the most powerful Luna this pack has ever had."

"How can I be Luna if I can't even shift?" I ask when he removes his hand.

"Were you not listening? Reagan, you will change and it will be tomorrow."

The bell to class rings which also means me being a junior and Vince being a senior, we have to go to class on the opposite side of the school.

I turn to leave but Vince grabs my arm and pulls me into a hug. I feel him shudder and his tense muscles loosen.

"Whatever you do, don't show weakness towards them. Stand up for yourself. Do it for me, Ray."

I nod slightly and let go of him. I walk down the hall and notice a group of people just outside my sixth period class.

'Just one more class, Ray. You can do this.' A voice said to me.

I turn around to look for the person that said that but came up empty. I didn't recognize the voice and I know everyone's voice at this school.

"Look at the freak. Why is she spinning in circles like a cat that got hit by a car?" Lexi the packs 'it' girl whispers to the group.

They all snicker at the comment. I was going to ignore it and walk into class then I remembered what Vince told me.

"Well, Lexi, if your brain was as big as your fake tits then you would know that disrespecting the alphas daughter is a recipe for disaster. Oh, and if you keep getting those do-it-yourself sprain tans then you are going to turn into a pumpkin." I tell her finally standing up for myself.

"How dare you!?" She gasp.

"Honey, I think you mean 'yes, future Luna. I apologize for my offensive comment towards you that can land me in prison for years.' Yeah, that's what you meant, right?" I counter her.

"Yes, future Luna." She forces through her teeth.

"That's what I thought."

I walk into my class and sit in my assigned seat. My lips turn up into a grin. I'm so proud of myself. I can't believe I actually did it!
