Akio yawned and stretched, "Shall we get moving before it gets dark I don't think we should camp in the spawning site." He suggested. Axel nodded and stood up on his own and Akio stood up right after him. After walking in just a few minutes they came up to a dirt road. "If you see a carriage coming let me know so I can wave them down." Akio said. Both boys sat down next to the path waiting, and waiting, and waiting, until finally a single horse drawn carriage comes down the road and they catch a ride for 50 vevrin. The carriage entered a city and they rode past a sign reading 'Welcome to City Of The Lost Xelayan, a city of opportunity.' "What is this place it's huge!" Axel asked. "My home town." Akio said while smiling. The carriage pulled to a stop and Akio put his bag back on, "Axel stay here for a moment." Akio said sternly. He hopped out and Axel looked out the opening of the carriage watching him. "AKIO CHAN HAAAIIIIII!" A brown haired girl shouted and waved at Akio. "Hi there Eden I returned!" Akio said while opening his bag. "I have brought you some wolf tarragon and ivory ivy like you asked now hopefully you can finish the potion and pass your class." Akio said handing the items over to the shorter female. Axel hopped out of the carriage and walked to Akio. "A-AXEL!! I said wait in the carriage!!" Akio shouted before shoving Axel behind him. "Who's that you brought with you?" Eden asked. "Uhh-" Akio paused for a moment, "Thhhis is Axel it's a long story." He finished his sentence. Akio pushes Axel from behind him to next to him. "Oh hi there! My name is Eden Kojimatsu you can call me Eden! Wanna be friends?" The brunette asked with joy. Axel took a step back and shook his head no. "Can he talk?" Eden asked. "He can he doesn't talk unless he wants to." Akio replied to her. "Well want to hit up the Antique Cabin Cafe for a coffee?" She asked. "Sure sounds great, Axel come." Akio said. Eden put her arm around Akio's arm and started walking. Axel stood silently for a minute before following. Once the trio arrived at the cafe they ordered their coffees. "That will be a total of 20 vevrin." The cashier said to Akio. "I'll pay for your coffee Akio chan!" Eden said while happily handing the vevrin to the cashier. "Axel you sure you don't need anything?" Akio asked. Axel just shook his head and they all sat at a table. Eden sat next to Akio and Axel sat across from them both. "Akio chan you'll never believe this but I got accepted into the union of sentimentals!" She said with a huge smile. "No way!! That's so awesome I wish I could join." Akio replied. Axel gripped his arm listening to them speak. "I figured out where to find bitter cudweed its all over the place in fairy meadow." Akio said before taking a sip of his hot coffee. "You know I can leave the city until I get my alchemy badge so your going to just have to collect things for me." Eden said with a frown and then smiled again. After a while of catching up the group left the cafe. "Hey Akio chan since your back now want to stay at my house or are you going to tell me no and stay at grandiose inn again." Eden said while putting her hands behind her head. "I will stay at the inn I especially have to since I have him with me." Akio said. "Hmph." Eden puffed. "At least can you pleeeeaaaassseeeee watch me put the potion together it would make me super duper happy!" She spoke with a begging tone of voice. Axel stopped walking and watched them continue walking not noticing he stopped. Before they got too far in such a huge strange city Axel started walking again whilst putting his hood over his head.

Eden lead them both to her house and took them downstairs to her cauldron of Alchemy. She grinned and took out the ingredients for a healing potion. Axel sat on the floor but Akio stood over by the cauldron watching her throw ingredients into the big black pot. A green smoke drowned the room before it shaped into a leaf and the liquid in the pot turned yellow. Eden scooped some of the potion into a vile and said, "I'm going to test it now." She said white cutting her hand and drinking the potion. Her hand glittered and the cut sealed up before vanishing as if it were never there. "IT WORKED!!!" She shouted with excitement. "Alright yeah!!!" Akio said with equal joy. Axel stood up and walked over to the pot. "Axel what are you doing." Akio asked. Axel hovered his hand over the pot casting a spell mentally so she won't know what spell it was and the liquid in the pot turned black. "Oh no!!!" She shouted and the happy smile left her face in a snap. "Axel!!" Akio shouted with frustration and he comforted his friend Eden. "It's okay Eden I can get more ingredients from the shop it might be pricey but I can do it." Akio said with his arm around her. "It's fine it's fine the badge doesn't mean anything to me.." she said in sorrow. Akio looked at her with a concerned expression. After a while of cleaning the cauldron and replacing it with new ingredients. Luckily for Eden she had enough to remake the potion perfectly and she quickly put some in a jar so Axel can't ruin the potion again. Eden yawned. "It's getting late I'll get a carriage to take you to the inn." Eden said smiling. "Thank you, Akio chan." She added onto her sentence. "You don't have to get a carriage it's okay. Besides I've stayed at the inn too much instead I'll just stay here with you." Akio responded to her without a care in the world. "What about him?" She asked. "He can sleep on the FLOOR next to me like usually." Akio emphasized the word floor hoping Axel would stay on the floor this time. "Hmmm alrighty come with me I'll take you upstairs." She said leading the way out of the basement to the second floor. "There is where you can sleep Akio chan there's a second bed in this room Incase your friend wanted to lay on the mattress." Eden said perking her ears up, "I will be in the room across from you guys if you need something just holler!" Akio set his bag down and sat on the bed furthest from the window. "Axel what has gotten into you! That wasn't very nice of you to do that. She works hard to get her badge in alchemy it's her only way to leave the city and expand her alchemist skills." Akio shouted while explaining to him. Axel ignored him and he sat on the other bed hugging his knees. Akio turned off his lamp and closed his eyes. Axels eyes watered as he turned off the lamp by his bedside. The sun rose up and the rooster cawed letting everyone know it was time to wake up. Akio rubbed his eyes and didn't see Axel next to him or in the other bed. The window was open. Could Axel have opened the window and jumped out? Akio got up and looked around the room, in the closet, under the bed, and looked out the window and didn't see any sign of Axel anywhere. "EDEN!" Akio called. Eden came upstairs from the kitchen to the room since she had breakfast. "He's not here did you see him this morning?" Akio asked with a concerned tone. "No I Haven't why is something wrong?" She asked while yawning. Akio quickly grabbed his bag and ran out the door. "Akio chan wait for me!" Eden shouted. "Stay here Eden." Akio said before walking out the front door. Akio ran all over the city looking for Axel but then he stopped walking and started to think where's the most reasonable place he would be. Akio checked all the alleys and no sign of him. Akio checked the cafe, no sign of him there either. He didn't think to check around Edens home outside. He took a walk around her house. There Axel was hugging his knees with his face buried in them. "Axel?" Akio asked trying to get his attention. Axel wiped his eyes and got out a few words trying to not choke on them, "What do you want." "What's the matter?" Akio asked while walking infront of Axel then crouching down to look at him. "It's nothing.." Axel said turning his head away from him. Akio pushed Axel's face to look at him again. "No What's the matter something is wrong you snuck out in the middle of the night and your here bawling." Akio said with a concerned tone again. Axel swatted his hand off and stood up. "It's nothing !" He shouted. "It isn't nothing so tell me!" Akio shouted back while standing up and grabbing Axel's hands. Axel looked at Akio with watery eyes and spoke. "I-I saw her put her arm around your arm yesterday and it worried me and w-when we left the cafe I stopped walking to see if you would look back you kept walking and then when we got to her home and you ignored me so I-I-" Axel spoke a fast as he could trying to not stammer and stutter but he got cut off at the end. "You what."Akio said looking at Axel's eyes. He looked down at the dirt while talking. "I-I thought you didn't l-" Axel inhaled, "I thought you didn't like me anymore." He said turning his head away from Akio. "You thought that I didn't like you because I hung out with Eden? That's silly." Akio said. "Y-yeah but you didn't pay attention to me." Axel stammered a lot and sniffled. "Axel." Akio said to get his attention, "Look at me please." Axel looked at Akio and trembled lightly. "I don't like you." Akio said, "This is between you and me but I love you if that's okay." Akio said and blushed. Axel kept trembling but his tears dried up as his face turned completely red. Akio didn't let go of Axel's hands and instead pushed them against the wall. "Forgive me for this but." Akio said quietly. Akio leaned his face in near Axel's slowly and pressed his lips against Axel's soft lips. As he closed his eyes Axel's eyes widened for a moment and then Axel little by little closed his eyes. Eden was walking outside to take a plant to the back and she stopped walking as she walked in on Akio and Axel. She dropped her vase and it shattered into pieces on the concrete.
