Here goes, 1st chapter of the book. Feedback and constructive criticsm is appreciated!

Magnus POV

"Speed up Magnus, at this rate ragnarok will begin before we reach the camp site," muttered Alex.

I groaned on the inside. Why did I think that going camping with Alex would be a good idea? Since we both enjoyed the outdoors, I decided to invite her (pronouns are she/her) to a camp. Now I'm sort of regretting it.

"Ten years have passed Magnus."

This had been going on for about two hours. Everytime I managed to overtake her, she would just morph into a bird or a cheetah and dust me. Un-frickin-fair. I decided to retaliate with a witty comeback.

"I just thought you would like spending more time with Mr Sunshine. Don't you?" I replied with a smirk.

I was hoping for at least a blush. Not a chance.

"As far as I remember, you were the one that announced your undying love in front of thousands of undead warriors."

"But you were the one that kissed me. Twice."

Oh gosh. I shouldn't have done that. Usually saying something like that would get me decapitated. Unfortunately we weren't in Valhalla at the moment, so no respawning. I was really playing it high-risk, high-reward.

Luckily for me, I got high-reward.

Alex leaned in and pressed her lips against mine. All regret circling my mind disappeared. I swear I died halfway through the kiss. It would've been worth it though. Sadly, our moment was interrupted by an annoyed Jack hanging on my neck in pendant form.

"Get a room you two!" Jack vibrated.

Alex felt the vibrations and pulled away, before smirking at my flagship cow-hit-with-a-shovel (Kane Chronicles Reference!) expression.

"C'mon, we're almost there."

That shook me out my daze, and I followed her. Within a couple more minutes, we had reached the campsite. As I pitched my tent, I couldn't help but notice out the corner of my eyes how the sun reflected off Alex's green curls, how the wind pressed her shirt against her body highlighting her curves, how-

"Hey Maggie, stop checking me out you perv."

My face turned red as a tomato. I turned my attention to trying to actually connect the metal sticks to from a support pole (I don't know the terminology, sorry). When I eventually finished pitching the tent, I wondered why Alex hadn't started yet. I got my answer when she slithered into my tent in the form of a snake.

"We're sharing a tent?" I stuttered.

Alex returned to human form and shrugged. "Maybe."

Trying not to blush, I crawled in. Hopefully I didn't stare. We laid out our sleeping bags as the sun retreated. I lied down and was pleasantly surprised when Alex rested her head on my chest. My heart beat accelerated. It was impossible that she didn't notice. Right I was.

"Calm down Magnus, I told you before I am not contagious," she stated.

"It's not- I don't- I know you're not con-"

Alex flipped her head around and kissed me. For the second time today, Magnus.exe had stopped working due to the malware of Alex's kiss. Before Jack could speak up, Alex returned to her original position, head on my chest, like nothing happened.

"Night Maggie," she whispered.

It took me a while to render what she said and produce a reply. I wasn't even sure if she heard me. Hopefully not.

"Good night love."

There it is, chapter 1 done. I guess it's a little short. Comment if you want chapters to be longer or if you want to give any reccomendations/corrections to my book.

CYA nextime ;)
