Regrets

We ignore each other like the other person doesn't exist,
But deep down, we both know it wasn't supposed to end like this.
We had everything we wanted in a bundle at our door,
Yet we kicked it from our presence, I guess we wanted to explore.
It was a want that felt more like a need,
Maybe it was the pain that ran those waters down my cheek.
I believed in you as much as you believed in me.
But walking side by side wasn't a possibility so letting go was clear to me.
So I took a pen, I tried to draw my feeling,
Hoping in that, I would find some therapeutic healing.
But there was too much pain from the memories locked within,
For the pen I took only wrote the tears trapped between.
